We lack another strong scorer, and it has a domino effect. Steph is blanketed all game, and rarely can get in rhythm. Some blame Steph, who I agree does look older, or Steve but I think Steph and the whole offense would look look a lot better with a real 2nd option (or 1B type) who could actually demand some attention.
Steve has tried a lot of different stuff because it's obvious the roster doesn't cut it.
Probably true. But constantly juggling the lineups just confuses the situation. We STILL don't know what Kuminga can do for ten games in a row as a starter. Same with TJD. Kuminga has a very good game, followed by an okay game, and he's suddenly off the bench. Then he starts again three games later and has a very good game. He literally closed and won a game for the Warriors 4 games ago and two games later he was coming off the bench. WTF???
This pretty much sums up my thoughts. As long as Hield, Waters, and Schroder can't make a jumper to save their lives, there isn't anything Kerr could do that would make this team really good. And I think some of what is going on now is really an aberration. Yes, Hield was never good enough to shoot as well as he was early in the season. But he also isn't bad enough to explain shooting 10% for an extended run of games. He is in a horrible slump, even for a streaky shooter, but he missed two layups last night. I think it is getting in his head.
But even with these guys struggling, and that being most of the problem, I have to believe more stability in the lineups would help. Waters would have been a nice story if we found a diamond in the rough and got him on the cheap. But at his best he's likely nothing more than a shooter, and if he can't make a shot, there's no point to having him on the floor. This is especially true when Moody shows his value just about any time he gets a chance to play. We're getting too cute instead of just playing the guys who are supposed to be, and generally are, the best players. It has often been discussed how little opportunity teams get to practice together once the season starts. If that is the case, then switching the starting lineup almost nightly guarantees you're going to keep running out lineups that haven't played together and aren't going to get used to playing together. I get not wanting to keep doing the same thing when we're playing so poorly and losing. But the saying "Don't mistake motion for progress" comes to mind. We're "doing things", but not necessarily anything helpful or productive.

crzyyafrican makes the best sigs, quite frankly

It’s funny how far past we are from Monta and Steph that you didn’t even think to mention the OG small backcourt lol.
To be fair, Kerr wasn’t there when they tried Curry / Ellis, but I’ll take that backcourt over dlo or Schroeder. We need a legit size 2 guard and we should give moody a chance to start a 2. Waters got that chance earlier this season and moody can’t be any worst.

Spam the PnR with Schroder & JK, TJD or GP2. Never all 3 of them on at a time. SloMo should almost always be paired with them (unless its JK/TJD). Stagger some Hield in there while giving Podz some minutes with the starters, as long as it isnt crunch time. Moody, Lindy and GP2 duke it out for SF minutes
Close the game with the 4 starters minus Looney, and let the game dictate who the 5th guy is. It doesnt have to be the best scorer, it should be the one playing the best floor game - the smartest floor game. Because whoever they are, they are NOT the main character. They are support
It's not as hard as Kerr makes it
I agree completely.
If Looney is playing very well then I am OK with Looney closing.
Looney screens and passing to some degree makes up for his lack of shooting scoring.
I think I have to play Kuminga because even if he is screwing up at basketball IQ his drive is just too damn good to not play him.

Curry Ellis should have worked. We probably got lucky that Curry Ellis did not work because that got us Bogut which helped Mark Jackson build a defensive minded team.
Ellis did not want to play with Curry which was stupid. Ellis and Curry would have been more fun than Dame and CJ.

What part of Dame and CJ worked? The fact that you think Monta and Steph "should have worked" is wild knowing what we know today.

... Curry Ellis didn't work because Monta sucked lol

Re: How Would You Fix The Rotation?
Steph, heild, Wiggins, dray, and loon should start.
You keep the core 4 and integrate gp2, slomo, podz, or jk with them based on match ups.
Schroeder and jk headline the bench unit with bulk of the minutes. You can match up the other 3 however.
Schroeder, podz, waters, jk, and tjd for example.
To close:
Steph, wiggjns, dray, jk, and Schroeder or heild or loon depending on what you need.
The line up numbers are starting to be clear. Motion guys to start. More pnr/iso with bench. Then integrate one or two with steph, wiggs, and dray, but can't be Schroeder and tjd nor slomo with jk.

Re: How Would You Fix The Rotation?
Surely the analytics department is saying something. Must be someone’s agent or player that is preventing this since this is clearly not working.
I’m really not sure what Kerr’s strengths are as a coach. I thought it was managing egos but clearly he allows politics to determine playing time. It’s definitely not his rigidness to his system. He’s not a great X’s and O’s guy. He’s not a matchup guy. Like the only thing he has is his philosophy of movement and getting others involved. Other than that he’s below average at everything else. You can’t have a head coach be below avg at everything but philosophy.
