Typical Jester, always preferring to whack away at what comes at the "back end" of this era.

KD, Klay, Dray, Iguodala, Bogut, Livingston, Barobosa, etc etc was only worth 10%? Good lord
I was being hyperbolic, but do you disagree that Steph is the engine behind everything? None of what came later happens without Steph.
Lacob didn't **** it up - which is good. Terrible owners like Dan Gilbert would've F'd it up. But he is also not responsible for the most impactful decision that created the dynasty, and has made serious mistakes which stunted our potential.

I mean OK but who is thinking it's going to be "pretty"? I feel like almost everyone here knows it's going to be very different and at least in the short term, much worse. You're losing a legend, there's no way it can't really.
But, an owner like Cohan (with cohorts like Larry Rowell) would be fine letting it be terrible for 20+ years (or at least so incompetent that it would naturally go that way). Lacob isn't going to be OK with that. There's going to be a period of rebuilding that will probably be painful — that's coming sooner or later when Steph leaves — but I have faith he's going to do everything he can to get them back on top.
Crazy things happen in the NBA and savvy owners/GMs can take advantage of it. Good/great players get bitter or disillusioned by their current team/ownership and want out. Bad GMs make bad trades. You might get some lucky ping pong balls in the draft (look at Dallas), and even if not, you can find future Hall Of Fame players in the draft outside the lottery. 40 other players were selected before Nikola Jokic.
I'm expecting it to be bad for a while when Steph leaves (or can't play much anymore). But I also think things can turn around faster than you might expect with a combination of competence, will, and luck.

Some people think that? What has this FO done since West left the building to prove it can do anything post-Curry?
the fact that we were able to squeeze a ring in 2022 was a miracle itself, just dynastic inertia at that point, but I have absolutely zero confidence in this FO until they actually prove it.
