If that is the chase he should have benched his favorite pg for never shooting 3s in Livingston.

when you don’t have prime Steph and Klay giving you legendary spacing when both on the court it changes the dynamics. Those two created so much space it was wild.

It was also 10 years ago. They shot 31.6 3s per game then which led the league in 2016. Now 31.6 3s would be the least amount of 3s in the league. It's almost as if the NBA has evolved in 10 years.

If Looney and Trayce and Quintin Post and Draymond are playing well that is not a horrible center rotation. For years I have wanted an option of playing a full size center who can bang with guys like Zubic. Quintin Post is a full sized center and he can shoot like a stretch 5. Don’t forget that Post is a second round draft pick rookie and presumably, will get better. Quinton post was another second round draft pick steal by the warriors.

Speaking of Looney.... he came out and wanted out because he didn't like how Kerr managed him.

He talked about it on the +/- podcast.

Kerr could be the least likeable coach in NBA at the moment…

My guess is that Looney only half means it. I think he could tell that his body is finally broken, and that this is his final contract. So he locked in the most he could get.

He also said he couldn't really complain because Kerr was usually right.

I'm one of Kerr's bigger fans here but between the JK shunning and Loon losing minutes to TJD, I was disappointed with Kerr's rotations more than most playoff runs (Ezeli getting minutes in Q4 of game 7 is still the top of that list, or is it the bottom?).

That said, I think there was no chance GS would come close to giving looney $9M/yr so I'm glad he got paid. This is likely his last contract, no hard feelings. Even in that interview, Loon said he would have stayed with GS if there was an offer that was even in the ballpark of what he got from NOP. Instead, he didn't even get an offer, at all.

Yeah... I love Looney, and was sad to see him go. But his quotes were along the lines of, "I can't believe you didn't trust me to guard Steven Adams". When I think we all know that isn't why Looney was on the bench. It was the same old thing of us having a lot of valuable players who can't shoot, and we just can't play them all together.

Yeah, i think this is correct.

We used to have wings who could shoot and on good volume like klay, wiggins, opj...to pair with dray and loon.

Now it's jimmy, jk, and moody. Since mdj did not prioritize shooting, he kinda got stuck and now needs a stretch 5 to make dray and jimmy work better.

You have perhaps understandably forgotten/repressed the memory that Anderson Varejao got live minutes in the last games of the 2016 finals series.

Right up there with not handing the ball the Marshawn Lynch on the 1 yard line.

We had a chance to get at least one 7-footer in this draft, and we did what we did. Raynaud, Zikarsky and Williams all could have been had. We could have traded up a bit in the second round for Kalkbrenner.

Look, I sure as hell don't have a crystal ball. All of those guys may very well wash out right away. Height is obviously not a guarantee of quality. But given who we DID draft, I have to wonder if this franchise has some kind of mental block against taller lineups, which is definitely the way the league is going. I'm still a little surprised Post is on the roster.

And is the team really excited about the guys they drafted?

I mean they drafted Quinten Post and TJD the previous two years. Most decent centers in the league were drafted in the first round with the only notable exceptions in the last 10 drafts basically being Jokic, Claxton and Gafford. I'm not aware of any legit NBA centers drafted in the 50s in recent memory. It's just like a dead zone of the draft.
