Unbelievable

I guess whe should hope that Jerry West doesn't get a job as GM for another team before Baron decides whether or not to opt out...or maybe we should.

And the problem with Baron in this matter is what exactly? Sounds like Baron listened to some good advice.

Jerry West officially disagrees with the Baron haters. (I'd love to hear his thoughts on Jack though.)

Debate closed.

I think Baron still is a mercenary at heart. I think the jury is still out until this offseason to see whether he really took the advice to heart or not. If he goes to the highest bidder then we know unequivocally what he is about. If he stays, then we know it sunk in. I can't believe I got Guitar Man to come out of the shadows.

You could take it two ways:

1) He learned a valuable lesson, and realizes what he has here.

2) He is a self-serving person who really never cares about anything but himself, and that was just another example.

West tried to impress on Davis that he was part of something special, that many NBA teams are essentially failed experiments in chemistry, and that it's rare to see a team like the Warriors.
"The Warriors are really fun to watch play," West said. "Really fun. And they play so damn hard that it's a joke."

 Yep, I'm back. I've been lurking fairly often, but haven't posted much in a while. Never a prolific poster anyway.

I'm enjoying the season, but share some of the frustrations voiced around here. I don't let it ruin my day, though. I certainly don't fall in line with those who think the sky is falling.

As far as this article on Baron and West is concerned, I fail to see how anything negative can be gleamed. BD had a lousy mindset this summer, West set him straight, and BD listened. Is he doing it merely to rake in maximum cash? I dunno. All I DO know is that Baron's having a great season (no, not perfect - plenty of room for improvement), and we haven't heard any whining at all about this contract status.

After listening to Nellie glow about Baron this morning, i feel pretty good about Baron coming back.

They're in love. and it's beautiful.

If that happens Baron and Nellie will ride off to Maui, sipping Corona's and smokin things.

Man, what West said to Baron should have already been obvious though. Baron should already have the common sense to know that he's playing for a great coach, for great fans, on a somewhat great team.

If Baron opts, then Nellie's gone. If he stays, then we get another year of scotch and stogie man.
