that being said. I think he could handle it.

And he shouldnt... thing is, Nellie's unorthodox-ness(?) only goes one direction - smaller.

On defense, Wright is certainly capable of playing the 3... on offense, he can't create for others, but hell, who's usually at the 4 for us? Al, Barnes, Pietrus... all of whom are more natural 3s. Why not sneak him in there for a few minutes?

And when I referred to college, I meant against the big bangers in college... Wright still held his own, especially defensively. A good center of balance, which Wright seems to have, is just as important as weight...

Mainly I'd be worried about rotations, but its not like the other players are doing that either? :dontknow:

Nick its simple... POB has all the tools to become a good big man. If we've had a guy like that for 2 years, and he hasn't improved, there are 3 options really, IMO:

1) He's so pathetically bad in practice, Nellie wont play him

SUPPORT: He's not playing in any games and anytime he does anything decently, Nellie finds a hole in it.
COUNTER: In the games he's played in, he's been somewhat effective. His range is way out there, and he's a long guy that can change shots.

2) Nellie doesn't know how to develop mainly post players.

SUPPORT: 26 years, and counting.
COUNTER: Someone else fill this in. I really can't..

3) Nellie believes that a bigger man like POB bogs down his offense.

SUPPORT: Biedrins has consistently seen his minutes cut.
COUNTER: We just signed a fatass.

Take your pick... no secret where either of us are at, but there's no clear answer either way... and I'll stick w/ #2.

I'll stick with two also but with some modification, I'd suggest in addition to not knowing how to develop big players which might be true, it might be more of not wanting to take the time developing non-perimeter players.

ODB plan on steadily increasing Webber minutes at the 5 spot.

Biedrins average minutes per game post-Web should dip under 20 by the end of the season.

Beans should fake and injury and spend some more time with his girl and let Nellie get his fill of Webb.

This is just rampant stupidity.

You know what's Nellie's secret agenda is? He's helping Mullin by hiding our young big gems under the radar so we can resign them later at a below market price. Think about it, why did Nelly pull POB, BW, and Kosta to the bench after a good performance?

Anything is possible in the Warriors' organization. I, on the other hand, believe that Nelly is a dumb genius.

I'll go with 510reggae's and Turk3d's reply: Nelly doesn't know how to develop post players, nor does he care about investing time in doing so. Nelly wants to play his style because that's all he knows. To go away from that would make him antsy.

What we need is a coach that can play both tempos and isn't Nelson nor Jerry Sloan. Playing only one style is such a one-trick pony. It just doesn't work against teams that can control the pace and force us into a halfcourt situation. Small ball is only good for teams that lack size, but we have size, we're just not developing them the way a big team would. If we had Yao freakin' Ming or young Shaquille O'neal, Nelly wouldn't do jack for those players because of how many touches those guys require to be the most effective. How do we know if Biedrins isn't more than he is right now? How about Wright or POB for that matter?

Nelly just sucks for the long run. The most we can hope for out of him is playoffs, but nothing more to build on after that because he won't develop the most important pieces of a franchise to go even further: Good big men to anchor down the defense, rebounding, and inside offense.

Custodian, what do you think about the Webber signing and the minutes he's been given right off the bat?
