Teams that have an expiring that can help now want something in return, like a pick. The only time this isn't the case is if they are over the lux tax and trying to get under the line.
I don't think the Warriors want to give up a pick for a rental, and I can't think of any players who fit the description who would make the difference between their current team being over the cap.
Good call Floppy and you've been right all along. Gotta give you your props.
You were the one saying long ago that we probably wouldn't use the TE and also said we probably wouldn't make any big moves.
I'm beginning to think we never offered the TE for any deal. Based on just about every move we've made since last years playoffs, the upper Brass has given Mullin a very short leash when it comes to spending any money.
They're clearly positioning themselves for resigning Monta and Beans. Unless Baron can get creative with Mullin, then I don't see CoRowell bringing Baron back.
Enjoy this season, because without Baron next year we can still be good, but Boomsama and M80 are the most exciting combo in the L.

I'm not sold that the lux tax is a de facto hard cap for the Warriors. Especially with Adonal's $6.9 mil coming off the books after next season (only $700K remaining), really we're talking one year of the tax.
What it would take is for the Warriors to show that they're in the position to contend - and they're not that far off, especially with Baron, Jax, and Al still pretty much in their prime, another year of improvement from Monta and Biedrins, contributions coming from Wright and Beli, and the likely decline in Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, and Denver over the next couple of years.

Cohan confuses me. First he overspends, now he gets stingy. The Bay area is the USA's 5th largest metro area. We do have a lot of people from other places and a lot of non-sports fans. We can't be worse than the 8th best market for selling sports in. If our owner is unwilling to have the 8th highest payroll in exchange for having the 8th best team the we Warrior fans better hope we get new owner.
The Warriors should be over the salary cap except when they are rebuilding.
