I notice lately the dominant talks focused on:
1. POB - How great he could be, torpedoed by Nellie. POB great, Nellie sux.
2. MP - multiple threads on MP! Why? dude isn't that good, and on his way out. Why multiple threads about MP?
3. Small ball - small ball sux? since small ball is a nellie trade mark, nellie sux.
4. Lasme - How we misused Lasme, come on, it wasn't like Lasme is making a name of himself on another NBA team.
By comparison, there are a lot less talk about Baron, or Jackson etc., Yet we couldn't stop talking about two guys that may not play on any nba teams and a guy that's more suited to be the energy guy off bench?

If you want pandering Warriors talk, there's plenty of forums for that... there's actually some basketball minds here, and ones that like to analyze.
Combine that with the rest of the patrol who can't see anything wrong with the current situation, and you get people talking about those things a lot... You may be better suited for WW if you don't like it.

The core thing is not that Pietrus-POB-Lasme are great or that Nellie is a bozo. The key thing is we are in a dead heat for the last 2 slots with 2 other pretty good teams and we have some obvious instances of opportunities misseed or ignored. Thabeet is said to at least be mid rd 1 this next draft. If you see him play....he has far less overall skills and talent than O'Bryant. Further....with nearly 2 years in the NBA (sort of) we STILL have yet to give POB a "sink-or-swim" road test. We do not KNOW he either can be a legit starter someday or is barely a scrub. You'd think after 2 years someone wants to unwrap that package that's been under the christmas tree. Lasme got a 1 min audition. Wow. The guy had 4 triple doubles his Sr year (10+ shotblocks) averaged 9+ boards and is wiry and mobile. Plus---we invested a pick. Instead we give a spot to THud after a losing team PAID to make him go away. Per minute,Lasme ranked at the top of the D league in blocks,ranked high in boards. MAYBE he could have be the tough inside guy we need....why not find out?
Pietrus? Drafting him was questionable. We picked "raw upside" we then changed coaches every 2 years and shuttled him around a few roles,and while he did not adapt fast...he has learned and improved. what's more-he recently has taken a pretty big step and for awhile he was an important plus in some wins....however...to cut payroll the front office pretty much made him temporary help,with POB,we will have 2 rather young recent lotto picks who most likely leave with us getting zip.
In other words.....we failed.
Lotto picks MUST be treated as something of value. They are a real important part of going from sucky doormat to legit contender. If you grade the Warriors on how well they draft and develop-over the last decade the grade would be a D. The Warriors pretty much got lucky with Andris and Monta. They just showed too much in their early,brief,opportunity to get neglected. Monty's main contribution was that he FINALLY unleashed Monta-Biedrins-Ike enough to show that they can not only be NBA players,but have the stuff to be pretty damn good. Ike had no chance under Nellie. Nellie sees no use for a wide body power type who can dominate in the paint...which is odd because it's just that type who has a career game against us. Diogu has had a number of injuries that,so far,have limited his chances to get established. We DID see what's possible.
There is no value in being SMALLER in basketball. There IS a plus in being faster/quicker. Nellieball at it's best exploits an advantage in speed/quickness and game skills. At its worst it just concedes the paint ,hopes the low % perimeter shots get lucky,runs a short rotation until there is no speed/quickness edge left. Yeah.....there's themes that keep coming up in Real GM threads. We can SEE the promised land from here....but we are spinning our wheels. We have some irrational obstacles Mullin/Nelson are happy to ignore and those things are LIMITING what -for this franchise can be a bigger breakthrough. What ought to be clear is that Nellie is a semi-genius with some major limitations. Nellie and Mullin both were finesse small forwards and seem to have no appreciation for the power game. The result sometimes is we lose because we concede the game in the paint. This year,Nellie has tried to compensate in part by making Pietrus-Az-Monta better on the boards. It's been a nice plus,not quite as good as having a banger who's grabbing a reliable 8-10 reb,but at least a step. Here,on Real GM,there's a faction who look at Pietrus and Azu and just find fault-as if G Giracek would be a better option or we'd find a swingman from the D league able to have a 15 pt,6 reb game off the bench.
We might win 60% and miss the playoffs.
The West is SO competitive that you can't afford to not sieze every opportunity. Next year...add Portland to those other 8 playoff contenders and you should see that we need MORE PROGRESS. Baron,Jackson? We are getting all we can from them. Nellie has pretty much optimized the starting 5,while also playing them too many minutes for them to be at max efficiency. IF Nellie had ALSO optimized the OTHER 10 players....where would the Warriors be now? What would the outlook be for next year?

I think it's me..Ive been wondring for many months now, if Pietrus has pictures of Nellie in the bathtub with Big Vic doing the wild thing...During Azu's 44 minutes last game, I brought up the possibility that MP sold those pictures to 1st Ballot.
