Get this - Josh Powell 11-14, 22 pts, 10 rbs for the Clips

Post#1 » by turk3d » Tue Apr 8, 2008 2:26 am

Hey, Josh Powell had 22 points, 10 rebounds on 11-14 shooting for the Clips in their game against Houston yesterday.

Just another big that Warriors (Nellie) had no use for. This is not the D league either.

Go Josh go! I like the guy. He hustles, he works on his game, and he's a Wolfpack alum.

He's a better overall player, but not at Power Forward. Had Nellie given Powell as many minutes as he gave Pietrus there, Powell would have done way better. Now at Small Forward or Shooting guard, then yes, Clouseau (with his Pink Panther like moves) is way better than Powell.

I think you just described Mikael Pietrus' characteristics.

Josh Powell? really? The answer to our woes is Josh Powell? Don Nelson's fear size is evidenced by Josh Powell?

Depends on the question.

If the quesiton is, Where oh where can we find a starting caliber traditional PF sized player who can play big on D and small on offense and give us 20-10 from the post and from the arc?

No, Josh is not Dirk.

If the question is where can we find a 6'9 powerful body with more basketball skills than the MBenga, a better back than Cro, and better knees than Webb to play <12 mpg at the PF and center spots so that we don't have to put 6'6" guys with streaky jumpers there because they have no ballhandling or passing skills and we can't get away with calling them NBA guards with a straight face?

Yes, I would say in all honesty, that Josh Powell, Stephane Lasme, Brandan Wright for the first 45 games of the season, and even P :censored: y O'Bryant were adequate answers to that question.

These are guys who were dropped from our roster to make room for Mbenga, Thud and Webb. Think about it.

No offense dude, but DUH!!!

The thing is, the alias is being done really well. I haven't seen him slip out of character yet. The tell is when his other persona, the one we all know well, has slipped into AI mode. It's a regular having weird fun. Considering who it is, it's a little bit of a sad ploy for attention, but it's still funny.

Ack!!!!

This guy couldnt produce on an Elton Brandless Clippers team (5.6ppg, 5.2rpg, 20 DNP).

Will you whiners please just go root for another franchise instead of constantly making these jabs at our team using plastic teaspoons? Its become quite irritating.

And to think that next year we are going to hear about every time POB blocks a shot or scores a basket in garbage time.

He doesn't suck that badly, it's just his negative vibe on this team is causing slow deteriation within the team.

Josh "The Missing Piece" Powell comes through with 2 pts and 3 rbs in a blowout loss to the Nuggets.

How many of you checked that box score and decided not to say anything? Be honest now. :D

While I never wanted him as anything more than a backup PF, it's true that he has underwhelmed me so far this year. But he's definitely ahead of Webber, Hudson, and CJ on how useful he would be to the Warriors.

He might be behind MBenga, though, which is pretty sad.

Im inclined to agree with you Floppy.

I just found it funny (not in a ha ha way) that certain people were trying to inflate his worth in hopes of making our franchise look dumb for letting him go.

He is not a bad guy to have on your roster but also not a bad guy to not have on your roster. I think it needs to be left at that, despite the rare scoring outburst or the more frequent 2pt 3rebound game.
