8 in 30 isn't good enough? :dontknow:

He needs to learn positioning better... it won't take much. He's the type of defensive player that causes offenses to know where he is at all times. I remember when he actually when head to head with Hibbert, they posted Hibbert up away from Thabeet and did it quickly... when there was a perimeter shot, 2 guys got in Thabeet's way.

These comparisons to Foyle and Mbenga are big indictators of not seeing the kid play the last half of the college season... if he keeps building on his improvements, drafting him out of the top 10 will be a huge steal for whatever team nabs him..

7.9 in 31 in college is not good for a potential pro center. 7' 3" who can move their feet a bit is good. I have not seen Thabeet this year.

When he played Georgetown he got 2 rebounds in 29 minutes.

We can draft him, send him to the NBDL and pray that he gets better. I won't object to that if we get him at 14; but I won't expect him to have a better career than POB.

Brook Lopez has 8.2 in 31... Hibbert had 6.3 in 25... The reason why Thabeet's #s are more impressive simply comes down to OReb/FGA... Thabeet rarely touches the ball on offense unless its to flush it... he doesn't get his own putbacks, he earns most of his boards... 1/3 of Lopez's boards were OREBs, and even on his highlight films you see him re-tippin his own misses in...

7.9 in 31 isn't jaw dropping but its damn good in college... are you translating their #s to the pros or something? There are far less possessions in college... it never helped Thabeet that Jeff Adrian happened to be quicker to the ball even though Thabeet often took a man or two off the boards himself.

I  Thabeet because I value defense over everything else, and this kid could be special...

I'm with you BW

Weve got defense up the yin yang in B and AB...Both these are going to need years to perfect their offensive games..Last thing we need is totally unpolished backup C....Patrick is a much better fit..Too bad he's gone .

The thing about Thabeet is that he's going to take a long time to develop, and you also have to take into account with that ODB he's not going to improve much.

Having an atheltic forward like Arthur, it'll help us bang around inside.
and with Love, the guy's a true talent, he can be a nice go to guy in the inside and hit those key mid range jumpers.

The only one of those 2 that will help is Love... Arthur was maddeningly inconsistent with exception of those 2 last games. I've suggested he might only 'get up' for big games... could be the case.

Love's the most polished of the group... none of them will be 'helped' under Nellie... then I look at where Arthur is in relation to last year, and Thabeet in the same way... Thabeet's learning curve is greater and more slanted to defense/positioning.. its not that I mind Arthur, but I do mind him with a team that will bore him, not give him minutes, make him play C... I get the impression that he's got a little Marion in him.

Only reason I love Thabeet (despite my love affair with tall defenders) is that he doesn't really have to learn much to step in for one year w/Nellie... all he would have to do is protect the rim, alter shots, rebound, and pass it. Light catching and dunking too. If we have him, we have 3 guys who can protect the rim, and one who's much better at man D.

I dont rank Thabeet over Love though... about equal w/Arthur, but thats due to the reasons I've listed above.

Love is the perfect guy to play alongside AB15 and BW32..Perfect I tell you..The problem is..I dont think Love will enter this year's draft..Jrue Holiday is a special player that's coming to UCLA..I think Love will stay around for another year and try to make it all the way.

If Love does come out..I say we move up to 12 by trading Beli to Indiana..

Thabeet sure looks like he can be something, but to be fair to Arthur, can you name me more than 5 7'3+ players that are reasonably good in the league today? I don't want to draft the guy, and then have that pick wasted. With Arthurs performance as of late, he boosted up his draft stock, and I think if he's available, then i'd take him over Thabeet. That's just me.

I'm still down for Kevin Love, no matter what, if he's there, where taking him, and if we don't then this franchise is cursed.
