I hope Pietrus leaves. Belinelli needs more playing time at PF.

Pietrus is always teasing me. In between being hurt, he'll string together a dozen games where he does his thing, doesn't try to do too much, and makes an impact. Then I fall in love with him just like an Ericka Dampier October. But it's a always been a mirage so far.

I wouldn't mind MP staying, but it has to be a tiny deal. He's not a complete basketball player by any means. Letting him go will never haunt a team like (line?? Celtics letting JJ go?). The team should not spend any important resources to keep him.

Anyone notice that Pietrus single handedly put the SUns in the bonus tonight! lol....

He's just a flat out idiot when it comes to creating fouls etc....just play stupid...clumsy..whatEVER you want to call it.

Please don't sign the guy....PLEASE!

The scary part is my natural replacement team would be the Heat, but if they sign Pietrus, I migh tjust give up on the NBA altogether.

You just might wind up with Beans in Miami (Beans would probably make Trainwreck more tolerable for you over there). As a bonus you could even get Al, one of your favorite players. Who knows, might be time for you to switch teams. lol.

If Biedrins and Ellis aren't inked to long term deals this summer, I'm out.

turk3d wrote:Prediction: Warriors initially offer Biedrens the QO (especially if Baron decides to take his option or FO gives him a long term deal) and unless it's handled properly by FO Biedrens agent takes a hard line (just like he did last season and asks for even more than he asked for last time).

Biedrens gets signed and traded for someone who has the money and is willing to give him a bigger deal and trade back some high paid vet. We get them to probably take Al off our hands. Look out, this is a very distinct possibility.

Some examples: 1) Marion + filler for Biedrens S & Harrington
Brand + Maguette for Biedrens (he moves to Power forward/backup center with Caveman) + Al + whatever filler required to make finances work. There's probably several others that might work.

Maybe even the Lakers might move Odom and Walton for Beans and Harrington. Biedrens ranks very high throughout the league (probably than he's ranked even here) but in a quiet way (something they don't publicize). Riley would do that deal in a heartbeat (Riley would also be an excellent coach for Al to play under). You have to ask yourself what is Nellie really looking for next season?

Any of those deals would finally convince me that the Warriors are bumbling dolts who 0nce every 15 yrs can reach that threshold of averageness known as an 8 seed. I might as well waste my time following Junior College teams.

A few DOZEN times the Warriors blew high picks or got hosed in trades TO GET A GOOD BIG MAN. Finally they get one and would let him be a QO>UFA or do a S+T to stock up on SF's?

Pietrus has made a lot of progress. The haters are dwelling on a few classic trainwreck moments from 2 yrs ago and are blind to the reality. It's no different than Nellie getting in his mental ruts. Pietrus played quite well for a 6th man in the last 2 months and that's why he played a lot. That should indicate how Nellie votes. If MP expects more than 6th man $....clearly there were memos from Cohen to be frugal.

We can dump guys we HAVE for zero....and imagine there is some vast secret stash of guys who CAN step into the rotation and who work cheap.
:wavefinger: That's no master plan. It's obvious Azu returns unless there's a real fat contract offered elsewhere. I'd assume we try to keep Pietrus or Barnes. 2 mo ago it seemed Barnes would be the choice. Now-I think Pietrus has the edge-but it's both a matter of him wanting to be here, and our $ offer being competitive. It's too late to convince POB this is any sort of future opportunity, and I doubt we pay top $ to try proving otherwise.

Croshere might return. I don't see him as anything but a patch but we are not aggressively going the youth route, and he is rather versatile.

Schizo is those around here who are in a hurry to dump our recent rd 1 picks, for nothin',then trade established starters (Baron or ?) for....picks.
Likewise...even at 14,there are those who'd take a raw freshman not near as polished as POB or Pietrus, who write off anyone with SKILLS as an overachiever without "athleticism". :dontknow:

In the NBA you make the top tier by efficiently using every opportunity,by efficiently developing and deploying every player you have. You don't dump talent because you don't know how to develop players.
We had a decent W-L % but wasted a lot of opportunity..again.

I WANT to see Pietrus become-full time-the player he has been in spurts. I want us to quickly develop our young talent-before the last week of the season. I want us to draft smart, know our needs and be aware of our track record. I'm fine with a trade-not with a "blow it up" where we slide back and then spend years fighting rising teams like the Blazers,Wolves,Sonics to just get back to 500.

Look at Wade, LeBron, Bosh now... they have their franchises by the curlies... those 3 year extensions were a stroke of genius. Now the Heat either have to pay Wade crazy or risk losing him, like the other 2. It's a smart move to ensure that your playing for a good team, or at the very least, insanely rich.

i know you didnt put Monta in the same class as Wade, LeBron and Bosh....

Monta is gonna get his money for sure and so is Biedrins. Theres no questions about that. Thats guaranteed.

On the Pietrus subject...Pietrus is a critical piece to the bench. Everyone seems to forget before his injury he was doing his thing and helping us win games. I would be all in favor for brining him back at a reasonable price tag. He is a good player in the league and im all in favor of stacking the bench with good players.

The real question is "Will Nellie come back???"
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

Everyone who highlights how critical Pete was for the 5 or 6 games he got to start before his injury is forgetting the 45 games he pouted and tanked to start the season.

Flush the turd.
