I do, and I'm only partly kidding.

You got two passes you got ball movement.

No way was Bukie getting touches earlier than that in the offense. The second pass comes to you you either help it move on for a third pass, or kill it. If you're the guy gettin in the way of that it's pretty obvious.

Right, but for most of the first half of the season, the knock on Buke was that he was too unselfish and needed to shoot more. That's why I pointed to that example of Nelson benching him for passing rather than shooting.

It's never been an excuse for anyone until Bukie.

You called it an excuse. I call it a reason. I never said it was alright. He should just say **** these chukers and do what he do.

And that's not gonna get better by working guys into the mix who can't do it even if they wanted to.

I really don't recall the big beef with Bukie being about his unselfishness . . . I kinda remember him getting pulled from the rotation for wearing a bullseye on D?

Do you honestly think he couldn't? How old is he? 24? If he had a coach that gave a damn, I'm sure he'd fit in just fine. Nelson's offense is basically, "ok, Jackson, you chuck it, Baron, you chuck it, Monta you drive it, Buke god damn you, why didn't you chuck it when it was your turn?"

The ball movement isn't going to change until the coach changes. And honestly, I'm more concerned about our lack of defense than our issues on offense.

Buke should be playing in Utah for Sloan. They'd love him there.

Well I looked at the salaries and I guess I was a little high, but not by much. We paid Barnes 3 mil and Pietrus 3.5 mil last year. I'd rather pay Buke 4 mil and cut loose those losers. Savings of 1.5 mil. I will revise my statement and say that we should match anything under 4 million. 3-4 mil is about average for a bench player. I had thought it was closer to 5. What did we pay Fisher anyway?

That;s closer to what I would have had in mind. 4 being the upper end. A million dollars is still a million dollars today and if you don't believe me you can just ask Cohan. The marginal talent in the league isn't getting 10's of millions thrown at them. It's not like Congress or anything.

That's pretty much it, but I thought you were against blaming the coaching? I could swear you've been locking horns with the haters about how irrational going after the coach is.

The haters are irrational because any other coach other than Nelson would not get the results he has. We can lose games the "right way" or win games the "Nelson way".

I never said coaches have no influence. We've only disagreed to the degree that they can generate wins.

Ouch.

I should've been more specific. Sloan would love him there.

Been said to death... but its not that Buke doesnt even get assists... but he's essentially Pietrus with the ball. A Pietrus who doesnt step on the line and can shoot better, and cannot drive... hmm... yeah. I'll stick with that.

No ball movement. It dies. And in smallball, thats supposed to be the point - quick movement with the basketball. We don't run smallball to get Kelenna 1 on 1 with ANYONE. Yet we apparently seemed to.

Catch and shoot... thats all he can and should do at the NBA level. I'd pay 2 or 3 mil to keep that kind of player on a team for one year....

I'm a Kelenna fan and no way do I want to spend 5 million. 2 mill tops, and only if we can't find something better.

'Buike won't get $5 mil per... that's almost full MLE money, and almost no one doles out full MLEs anymore, too many deals came back to bite asses. Just because you can exceed the cap/lux tax threshold to sign a guy at $5 mil per doesn't mean you want to.

My guess is an over/under of $3 mil per... and I might take the (slight) under, which is still a huge raise for him.

Yeah but I think someone will pay 2nd ballot (POB) less than what he made last year

$3 mil is of course a lot of money, but not by NBA standards. And I still take the under... 3 years, $7.5 mil, PO on year 3? Bonzi Wells money. That would bring his average salary over 4 seasons to around mid-first round rookie scale money.

Hey these rotation guys like Pietrus, Buike, and Barnes have warts (and especially Barnes, this season), but if they're gone you've also got to think who is in there to replace them, are they an upgrade, and at what cost? The League is not crawling with $3 mil per year impact players.

So if you guys want them gone, it would be nice to see your alternative scenario... (and for next season not hindsight): what cheap player would you want to bring in, at what salary, and do we get them as RFAs or have to give up something? I'm very sure there are some guys out there, but not growing on trees.

 internal development

 TPE

We could sign Diawara... all we need is an odd name that can shoot right?
