if POB goes to a different team, i hope he sucks balls. And i will not feel sorry for him, for he will have a career of making tons of money for playing a sport.
however, if he stays... CMON PATTY!
I'm ready to be embarrassed and proven wrong, but..

Whether you like POB or not, I don't see how you can say McGee is roughly the same. I guess if you limit it to being 7 feet tall and having a jumper (or supposedly having a jumper in POB's case), then ok. But aside from that they are nothing alike.
Are you serious? POB can handle the ball adequately for a big man, isn't some slow plodder, both can shoot (not off the dribble, apparently) and both are extremely long and good at timing blocked shots...
The difference is McGee is more trim... otherwise its nearly the exact same scenario of a big, late-blooming kid whos stock continues to rise at draft time...
The only difference is that people are conditioned by a nameless old coach on one player... if we drafted McGee for 2 years of Nellieball, it would be the exact same story with the exact same haters...
Raise your hand if you've seen McGee play live?
Raise your hand if you've seen POB play live?
There's a ton in common.

If he can shoot, great.
But his jumper has looked horrid to me in real games. I'd like to see it on the court. Otherwise he's just Skita all over again.

To tell if they are identical, I would need to see lots of them. To tell that they are different, I don't need to see that much if the difference is strong enough.
McGee plays completely differently from Patrick. It's apples and oranges.

So in the 250 minutes or so of "real games",,this 55% fg shooter with little green marks all over his shooting chart has looked "horrid" to you?

The Skita comparison was strictly about a player who could do something in practice (in Skita's case, shoot) that disappeared in an actual game. That's all I was referring to.
Have to keep in mind POB's a C... he's not going to take contested 18+ footers consistently and make them... but that's his option here. Create your own shot. His post play isn't good/refined enough to stay down there, and his jumper, while unique for a C, isn't going to spread the offense enough for Nellie, especially since I really can't find any clips of POB hitting a jumper from the baseline side... he's a straightaway shooting C.
As for McGee... they play a lot alike... POB dominated tiny Cs like McGee did in his videos... the only difference is that McGee looks to have fire in his eyes, POB doesn't...

Why would POB accept a contract from the Warriors? He can go anywhere he wants. Do you think the Warriors will offer him more money than other teams will?
Andris Biedrins will probably always be better than POB. Why would POB want to play for a team that already has Biedrins. There are some teams that don't have a decent Center. POB might be able to win the starting job on those teams next year. If POB ever wants a big time pay day he needs to play more than 25 minutes a game somewhere.
Even if Nellie is fired, POB is not likely to play 25 minutes a game in Golden State.
POB may put up good numbers next year but he will not play for the Warriors.
