Every coach we've had the last 10 years has been tuned out from day 1 until Nellie. Whatever Nellie's problems are, getting tuned out isn't one of them. Player relations is his long suit.

Excellant point and probably the biggest reason to keep oDB.

It's the only point, and its not even that big a difference maker...

What would Baron and Jax do on a team they didn't care about, or quit on? Chuck at will.

What did Baron and Jax do on a team they did care about but were allowed to chuck as freely as possible? And I don't doubt for a second that because they were allowed to shoot whatever, whenever, is why they really cared about the team...

They both are so much better than you're giving them credit for.

I understand your dislikes, but this team can win with them, we're just missing a couple of pieces.

Completely disregard talent and fit.

The point of "controlling" the team is so selfish chucking doesn't happen, as well as lax defense. It's not controlling the team when you freely give them what they want.... Nellie caved all season until game 81...

A team will win a bit more because of them... will it make them better? They play a style of ball that doesn't beat fundamentalist teams... because they do it better than others, we should keep them?

Its hard to find gimmickball players that dont cripple the team... its probably harder than finding a starting PF/C on a traditional team.

I guess it depends on what counts as a big difference.

When Nellie first arrived and had the old Monty team, he had them playing completely differently coming out of the gate. He coached that team to 20-22 before the trade, which was a better pace than Monty achieved, despite having basically no Jason Richardson.

I saw a big difference in how the team was playing. For the first time they looked like they were on the same page.

If you want to say Nellie's strategy is flawed, I can understand that view. But saying he didn't have a big effect? I can't go there with you.
