A salary cap run down.....

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/warriors/2 ... ree-years/

Intersting article with plenty of assumptions. Not sure how much I agree though.

Personally if we let Azu and Barnes and Pietrus go, then I'd use that money for another late first rounder via some sort of trade, and then a vet minimum guy or 2 to patch work things.

We then have 3 rookies and a couple of Vet minimums. We ride our main guys and we will then be forced to develope the rooks and forced to use Belli and Wright.

My rookies would be Love, CDR/Rush, and Dorsey/darnell jackson/dozier.

Polished player in Love who can play immediately as a guy Nellie will love (no pun intended). Another polished SG/SF type to replace Azu in CDR or Rush. and a project big PF/Center type who might be able to help this year as well. A banger/energy type.

Vet minmum guys like Anthony Johnson or Tyronne Lue to help us at back-up PG.

Croshere or maybe a guy like Juwan Howard to fill a front court back-up need.

This year I'd add the 3 draft picks because of the stacked lower rounds. Next year I'm looking at Baron expiring and I may have cap room to deal with, so I might not care as much about any draft picks. So I go after a Rasheed or Odom player.

Baron/ AJohnson/Tay
Tay/CDR/ Belli/Jackson
Jackson/Wright/cdr
Wright/Al/Love/Dorsey
Goose/Love/ Dorsey/ Juwan Howard/Kosta

Interesting article Mylie. Probably should go under the salary cap thread.

Is he right that Foyle only adds 6.9M to our cap? Didn't realize that. Thought that it was more. That's a big plus for us.

$6.9 million is correct for next year.

Foyle gave W's a major discount

The year after he's $700,000 only

He gave us a 33% discount which is definitely a big deal. 08/09 was originally the last guaranteed year of the deal. 09/10 was a team option. The 700K next year is negligible, but 7mil in idle salary this past season and again this comming year is probably a bigger challenge than trading his 10 mil expiring would have been comming into this season.

He did Cohan a favor. It really hasn't worked out to do anything for the team.
