I'm fine with him just focusing on the baseline three, and from the looks of things at the end of the year, he's got it.
as for the PG skills, watching Tony Parker run the Spurs this year, Monta is already on a path to surpass him (as far as distribution, and penetrating/dishing). As long as you pair him with the right SG, I think he's good to go starting at the 1.
His individual D slacked off a bit this year, but he has all the tools (physically) to be a + defender very soon.
