Ike vs Pistons....POB vs Clips.....these guys WERE #9 lotto guys. You SEE what works....you make that happen more. Instead--we AVOIDED letting the good stuff happen. In part-the same thing happened with Wright. We got a few looks and saw that he had some talent-but did we follow up? Did we get him in games and try to put him in the type situations he'd done well in? No.

Well, we can go around in circles on this discussion, but it's all talk.

What is fact is that a second organization has gotten nowhere with Ike. We won't really be able to settle this argument until a year or two from now with both POB and Wright...

I'll completely agree with you that this organization wasted two #9 picks (Ike helping to grease the wheels on a salary dump trade is not a "good" use of a pick), but there is no indication that Wright is headed in the same direction as the other two involved in this discussion.

We will know who the Warriors will take with the 14 pick a week before the draft. Mullin is one of the worse GMs about keeping secret their draft intentions. The only surprise in last years draft was the JRich trade.

Wrong;

I'd like you to predict who we are picking one week before draft day please.

As for Ike and Obee.

Ike has been injured and has a plethera of bigs at indy. Not saying he's an all star, but if he can stay healthy, then he will play well.

Obee has been well documented here, but he had more than just the one Clipper game as evidence.

He played well against the Clippers in his first year. And the first game the Dubs won this year.

He outplayed Bynum in 2 preseason games. Affecting shots in the lane repeatedly (defense).

He went down to the D-league (reluctantly) his first year and got it going once he embraced the decision.

He went to the D-league this year at his own request (showing maturity), played extremely well in a guard oriented league, and then after some impressive performances, was brought back up and promptly not used.

He played decently in some other appearances, by changing shots in the lane. He showed he has nice tough and the ability to rebound with his length.

He's a better option than what we trotted out there every night. That's not even a debateable point. He may have warts, but they can be removed with confidence from his coaching staff and by playing in a consistant role.

You cannot convince me that Al at center is better than Obee, but for a few certain mismatches.

MBenga is not better than him. Barnes at the five is not better than him. Webber was not as effective as Obee could have been.

Based on our choices and money situation he was our best option as a back-up to Beans and he was mishandled.

Even if you don't likje him very much, you don't just pin a guy to the active roster bench.

It was mishandled and it needs to be addressed.

I don't have the time to do a lot of research, but here are a few to back up things up:

This is from Draft Express:http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2005-NBA-Draft-Grades-1029/

Diogu was promised by the Warriors that he would not slip past them after he worked out for them a few days before the draft (DraftExpress were the only ones to report about this workout),

I can't put my fingers on it but there was a pre-draft rumored deal for Biedrins, who canceled workouts.

I'm talking about Nellie, not Mullin.

Nellie is on board and things will be handled by him, with instructions to Mully to keep his mouth shut.

Nellie's a poker player. The draft is his NBA Hold em'.

There was -- either we gave him a promise or it was leaked that we wanted him... can't remember which, but his selection was not a surprise.

But I think with Nellie on board things are indeed different as I had no idea we were going with Marco... but maybe I was under a rock...

I agree that with Nellie you never really know. Mullin should be the one making the draft call as he is the GM.

FYI...looks like the Warriors are going to host a multi-team and player workout:

From Draft Express...
Similar to last year, where the Houston Rockets organized a massive two-day, 36 player workout attended by 12 teams in Orlando, this year the Phoenix Suns

They aren't my predictions, but there have been numerous leaks prior to Nellie. There were some ties to us to Marco last draft, so there still might be a source of the leaks still involved.

You will know as soon as I do...
