Knicks fan trade proposal

Post#1 » by Big Chan » Wed Jul 2, 2008 3:21 pm

Hey guys, wanted to see what you thought about this deal. With Baron gone you are going to need some backcourt help, i am assuming Mullin will fulfill his promise and re-sign Ellis, so if he is your point you are going to need a two.

As you know we are looking to shed contracts that go past 2010. With that in mind:

Jamal Crawford

For

Belinelli

What do you guys think of that trade, you win in talent, but lose some of you cap space.

Nope.

No point for the Warriors to trade cheap youth for decent players on large contracts when they're now clearly moving towards a youth movement.

You guys should still do the Mobley for Crawford trade and continue to clear cap room in 2010.

I dont think the clips will deal for Craw now that they got Baron, they are way too cheap. Crawford is only 25 or 26, i mean thats not too old. The way your team plays would also suit him

Probably true about the Clips being too cheap to deal.

Crawford's not a bad player by any stretch, but he's not going to make the Dubs significantly better, and it doesn't make sense to sacrafice youth when you're in the middle of a youth movement. And Crawford's contract may not be too bad if your name is Dolan, but for the majority of the league it's still a hefty deal. Not gonna happen.

We are not going to add any players on larger than 1 or 2 year contracts that aren't difference makers. We put ourselves into cap hell by signing marginal players to large contracts and have finally cleared it all out, no point in making the same mistake again. Sorry Knickerbockers, the Warriors are not interested in Crawford, unless, of course, you get him to sign a paper in blood that says he will opt out after next year.

Thank F'n god that he is not our GM. And this is a guy that said giving Baron 3 more years was too much. Kawakami is a tool.

Good Lord, that would be 3 years, $76M in contracts the Warriors would be adding, while subtracting 2 years, $20M. Man, I wonder what Kawakami was smoking last night when he thought of that one.

Or how much he was being paid by Spike or the Knicks FO.
