Nice of him to leave 2M/yr in cap space for Washington to sign a superstar.

Looks like they split the difference on what they originally agreed to and the max the Wiz through out there to keep him away from GS. Let's tie up everybody's cap some more. This is fun.

Better than the alternative - losing your best player because the team is cheap. I mean what kind of team lets their best player leave like that?....

Wait a sec, Monta left?!?!?

Oh wait... its just another outsider talking out his ass... been quite a few this offseason. I like that their making themselves easy to identify with barely thought out, middle school recess trash talk though. I hate surprises.

Whose noble in the NBA. The NBA is cutthroat ... i mean if Brand is to be the upstanding guy he's been portrayed as the Clippers wouldnt even be in this debacle. But it sure is nice that this is the NBA and every million counts! Larry Brown is the best example!

Pretty much nobody, which I've come to accept some time ago. I never blame anyone for taking the money or using their position of power. It's lying about it that makes me laugh.

Glad that he took Washington's offer.

I was expecting this anyway but good to know that its pretty much official.

Driving up the prices FTW.

I thought he had part of it it right.

We let Baron Davis go and leave us with the keys to the offseason car.

His euphemism for Baron Davis was confusing and maybe some sort of attempt at irony or sarcasm. Maybe metonymy. I'm not really sure what any of those words mean. But the cheap part is a low blow. We've offered more money around the league this offseason than anyone else and can't help it if the players are revolting against their union and their agents by taking paycuts to pretend they're Kevin Garnett or something. All because we didn't offer hacks like Baron Davis, Mickael Pietrus, or Matt Barnes the kind of cash we used to give to hacks like Troy Murphy, Adonal Foyle, and Mike Dunleavy's kid (pre-coming out party in Brat-Land).

I prefer frugal.

between Hopper's subtle comedic dis and Reg's counter, no need to ban trolls, they won't be back.

I was just about to make that same omment TB. The mods don't even have to worry. All it will take is a few trips over here and we'll send em packing and they won't come back either. 510 already started on him and is about to tear him a new one. lol.

So Gilbert is the first free agent to decline Warrior money this off-season. Or was it Baron? ...not sure if the W's offered him any money at all, but I guess he wasn't really a free agent at the time. More than likely, Brand will be next. Who'll be next in line? An offer for Smith or Iggy has to be coming up soon.

I think every situation is different 510, if only it were as simple as "sign your best player to a max deal every time"
