Credit where credit is due, Dirk is the best thing to happen to Monta. Carlisle too. Excited to see what he does in the next few post-seasons. Also, Carlisle doesn't get enough love as a coach -- he should be considered the 2nd best coach in the league, or 2A to Thibs' 2B.

On another note, RAPM comes through once again -- anyone seeing LMA sh*t over everyone?

I wanted us to steal Carslile when we fired Smart.

That was my thinking as well. Carlisle's contract actually expired before Cuban re-signed him. The word out of Carlisle's camp was that he wasn't happy being a lame duck coach.

Carlisle is a great coach and the team we have now is similar to the Pistons that he had before leaving there. He's in Dallas though and only way to get him is to wait until this contract he's got ends, whenever that is.

Hard to believe that there is a pretty strong base of fans who would like to see Carlisle fired. Same complaints, substitutions, play calling, game preparation as Jackson.

Carlisle is a hell of a coach and has done his best coaching after the Mavs won the championship. He has had to deal with the mercenary approach by Cuban.

We could always send in Scal to throw his poo around the room until Woj writes and article that gets him fired?

I've always contended that management was never able to put that player next to Monta. And that the coaching never did enough to get Monta to realize the faults in his game.

All three of his coaches put it on him to be the man based on the roster. Monta took that on. And when paired with David Lee, they had a real good chemistry going. Monta tried to facilitate, but often times the roster was so putrid that he was forced to try and take things over himself. He often got us to those mid level 30's win totals and he caught all sorts of hell for it.

Now let me say that monta's game was very flawed. Some of that due to the roster and some of that due to Monta's unwillingness to change or adjust. He is not the perfect player obviously and if he were he'd be paid amongst the very top of the scale.

But some of us have always said that Monta next to the right player would conform, and props to Dallas and Carlisle for bringing him in, and also getting him to stop hoisting so many threes. Monta as most of us have agreed, needed to play next to a stud that he'd defer to. I was often told that he wouldn't defer, but clearly Monta does want to win, and he's fine being a team player.

Props to Monta. I didn't realize he led the league in drives to the basket this season. He has really taken a beating in the games I have seen him. He seems as quick as ever as well.

How about LMA? Wow didn't know he had that much of an offensive game. There goes the Lee and Barnes trade for him ;)

Lee with a jumper should be beating that PnR trap to death. I have no idea what happened to Lee's jumpshot this year. Even if he has been more efficient without it, that was a floor spacer shot that we really do need in our arsenal.

Yeah, there was one time (I think it was Lee in Game 2) where he got the outlet pass near the FT line and didn't take the wide open 18 footer. He looked to immediately pass it to the wing. My depressed memory from that game may be hazy so apologies to Lee if that wasn't you, but I do remember screaming at the TV to shoot the damn ball.

Amen brother.

The fact that Lee is a veteran and should know better, there are several tweaks in his game he has talked about making, that he just isn't committing to for whatever reason.

What happened to Lee supposedly working on a 3 point shot this past off season? Now he is reluctant to shoot jumpers in his normal range.

He is so driven by his numbers (and thats not always a bad thing by the way) that i feel he abandons these lower percentage shots. But in the instance of his elbow jump shot, I feel its a huge weapon. it allows for better spacing not only for himself, but the passing he has becomes more of a weapon because he's facing up and can see whats happening around him.

I don't care if he misses a few of them, he can't become predictable or he's easier to defend.

The other area is the defensive challenge or man D. He's often worried about fouling out...I get it, but he has to stay aggressive there. He's decent one on one...where he really sturggles is with help and switches.

Hopefully lee will make some solid adjustments tonight and gets it rolling.....on both sides of the ball.

watched that one. LMA's turnaround jumper was/is just a thing of beauty.

Even more so in that it was Houston he was dumping on

Watching Portland beat Houston is very pleasurable.

Warriors are similar to Houston...with one huge exception: They play defense.

Anyway...Harden....14 for 47??? omg....Harden and Howard might be the worse leadship you can have on a team....At least Howard trys to play defense.

Without his jumpshot he is not as difficult to defend, but then again with the shooters we have it is better for him to do what he did this season and score closer to the basket and at a higher % like he did.
