Re: More Free Agent Talk
I'd look at Darius Bazley, Torrey Craig, Mamadi Diakite. Maybe a Dewayne Dedmon reunion but I'd rather add a F who can play in small ball lineups over a plodding 5.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Have Dubs reached a place where they have no room to pick up any meaningful FA’s? It appears maybe so. Seems like they’re just waiting to see who gets left in the vet min pile.

Doesn’t seem like SF is a desirable to live in. Expensive and deteriorating city. Minimum vets can get their money’s worth in less expensive cities

What are the priorities for pro athletes who make millions as far as lifestyle?
Clubs and groupies?
Everyone is drawn to Hollywood and other glamorous places like Miami.
Eventually Vegas too probably.

Projection. The Warriors don't have any money to spend and people are getting paid. Politics have nothing to do with it.bay2hk wrote:thunderdunk wrote:Have Dubs reached a place where they have no room to pick up any meaningful FA’s? It appears maybe so. Re: More Free Agent Talk
Yeah only vets who've already made money or players who aren't getting offered more than the minimum would consider ring-chasing for a year.
And so far, the ring chasers are going to the Lakers and they probably will join up with Denver too.

Mdj going to have to start scouring globally since no one wants to come play with steph for the vet minimum.
Dwight Howard?
Shabazz Muhammad?
Jeremy Lin?
Cousins?

Given that there are easily 5 teams with better chances to win next season, it would be weird to expect the best ring chasers to end up on GSW.

I think he’s looking for NBA players.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

If Wagner and Landale each got $8m a year, that really doesn't bode well. Saric, Plumlee, Queta, Moscala, R. Lopez left from my list. I have no idea what's going on with Christian Wood, but there is no sane world where we end up with him and guys like Landale and Wagner get $8m a year.
I think Muscala is contracted to Wizards, unless they bought him out
I've been spelling his name wrong. I hate when people do that.
I was looking at this:
https://www.nba.com/players/free-agent-tracker/2023
but ignoring the little footnote that said it was a team option. My hunch is that they had to exercise the team option to trade him, and so he's now under contract with the Wiz.

yup, he's locked in. And he costs little enough, and has enough specialized value, that the Wiz likely hang onto him and trade him for a top 40 protected 2nd at the deadline.. Muscala is trying to see the whole country it seems.
Honestly though he might be breaking a record someday. Whats the most times a player has been traded in the NBA? Moose is up to 6
EDIT: just looked it up. Muscala is only 31 so he has a chance, but beating Trevor Ariza's 9 is a tall order.
Warriors legend Chris Gatling and Dale Ellis have 8 each
Marcus Camby, Sam Cassell, Joe Smith, Luke Ridnour, Otis Thorpe, and Don McLean were all traded 7 times

He's also been dealt 7 times but I think his career is winding down, if not over

Re: More Free Agent Talk
Some under-the-radar names I haven’t really heard anybody talking about, potential fits at the minimum for the Warriors: Willy Hernangomez (if they can’t get Saric); Kevin Knox; Jaylen Nowell; Raul Neto. And a dream would be to get either of the next 2 guys at the minimum (definitely worth much more): Lonnie Walker, Trenton Watford.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Your list looks incomplete; I'm not sure if it was meant to be comprehensive, or just guys that interest you. Frank Kaminsky is still available I think? As is my dark horse candidate, Neemias Queta. I had forgotten to mention Hernangomez. He had plenty of support here last year, and as things narrow, is starting to look like his name deserved mention again.
Nerlens Noel doesn't appear in the NBA free agent tracker. Not sure why yet. Maybe because he was bought out /shrug

I am just pulling guys who are listed as available. I went ahead and added those guys. When I saw Queta outplay Wiseman in the G-League that's when I knew we were in trouble since he was like the 4th or 5th guy on the center depth chart for Sacramento. Juancho's outside shot has been inconsistent, wanna say his game reminds me more of Jerebko since he's athletically pretty good.
