Jeremy Lin in crunch time, including driving on Kawhi, pulling up and hitting a fadeaway jumper for the go ahead basket.

Re: Around the NBA III
Lin was in the zone. Spurs played their fluid offensive game for the most part, but they struggled a lot as well. There is something about their offense that just doesn't work at times and I can't put my finger on it. Their spacing seems off at times and it seems a little more posting up than usual? Maybe it's still a little struggle for LMA and a lesser extent West fitting into Pop's offensive schemes.

Re: Around the NBA III
Well for one thing, they let him take a lot of those jumpers uncontested, especially a couple of the 3s.
Obviously he's not the 3-point threat that Curry or Thompson are but it's clear they decided to relax from the defensive strategy they employed Saturday. Though they did shut down Kemba Walker pretty well.
Tony Parker had a much better offensive game when he didn't have to concentrate on defense as much.

Interesting what is going on with LeBron. Here his team is, on the cusp of the playoffs and he is talking about getting a dream team together of his friends. What poor leadership. Then they get beat by the Nets.

His body language for most of the game when he wasn't going vintage scoring Lebrons was terrible as well. Every time he drive and kicked it out and a team mate missed, he'd drop his shoulders or look to the sky like "Ugh, these team mates are crap".
I'm convinced that Kyrie will be shopped hard this offseason no matter what happens in the playoffs. He doesn't fit the new age way to play basketball. His game is made for the street, not team NBA basketball.
Kyrie to the Sixers for a player like Canaan, Grant or even Covington would be a good deal for the Cavs.

Beasley probably won't get BIG $... but will tend to get a decent sum...and can be a bargain. He's got talent and by now is probably more mature.Coxy wrote:NeoWarriors wrote:Super Cool Beas is going to trick someone into giving him a big contract.

You might be right. It's a small sample size, but the advanced statistics actually are pretty good for him. He's taking more shots from within 10 feet of the hoop than ever, which suggests a little better shot selection. With that, he's shooting a better overall percentage, by far, than he ever has, and his True Shot percentage is about 58%, which is pretty decent. He's also rebounding the ball, getting more steals, and blocking more shots (per possession / opportunity) than ever. One negative - he's not getting any assists, so he's still somewhat of a black hole, but at least he's getting better shots and making more of them.
He's also getting a decent number of win shares / win shares per 48 minutes, which is a pretty decent indicator. And his offensive rating and defensive rating are basically the same, so he's about a "neutral" player - he isn't hurting them on defense significantly more than he helps them on offense. So the odds are that he'll get a decent payday, if he keeps up this pace through the rest of the regular season and playoffs. But given his history, he's never going to get a "huge" contract.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Re: Around the NBA III
Chris Paul says he won't be playing on the Olympics team this summer.
There is only one PG on the team now so the natural assumption is that Curry will be selected.
But if the Warriors get to the Finals again, I'd rather all Warriors rest, though the pull of the Olympics for the latest Dream Team will probably be too strong.

This is without question the best lakerhater team since Van Exel and Ceballos were chanting "can-cun" on the bench during their elimination loss.

Scott Brooks to the Wiz, wonder if they are trying to entice Durant even more? Though Durant was supportive of Brooks, i don't think this is a game changer.

This is a move the Wiz should have made a year ago. Given Brooks a chance to build a storyline of how he improved the Wiz, and made them all prepared for KD. Of course, if they stank like they did this year, it wouldn't have helped. But everyone with any sense knew that Wittman stank, so it wouldn't have been any great loss to dump him, no matter how it turned out.Left*My*Heart wrote:Scott Brooks to the Wiz, wonder if they are trying to entice Durant even more? This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

The Wiz have had no identity at all over the last season. Their star players are often injured and Wall hasn't seemed to be able to transform himself into a Westbrook type monster that everyone expected him to be because of various reasons.
The Wiz need bigs badly. Gortat is soft and Nene is 162 years old now. After that they are shallow as hell.
I don't think the coaching change will help them getting Durant at all.

Doc Rivers pumping himself up like he's a great coach now by keeping it within 10. Making excuses.

Re: Around the NBA III
He was saying Crawford just missed good shots.
So he's going to lean on Crawford to chuck.
No backup PG to try to run the regular offense.
