Ball "interviewing well " is interesting considering he apparently hasn't met with us yet.
Maybe he's doing his best to not go to Minny ?

Speaking as somebody who’s been a lazy a** for my entire life, I can just tell by watching the way he moves and listening to how he talks , Edwards is one of us .
Wait till he has millions in his pocket..Oh boy.

Tracy McGrady was like that early on wasn’t he. Droopy eyed high schooler who to me looked lazy in the way he walked always slouching. But yeah def get that vibe from Edwards haha.
What I like about him is he attacks the rim hard. We need more of that.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread, Part 2
Honestly I watched 10 games of his in a row once I figured out I got the SEC sports channel..I rarely ever saw him drive to the basket , even though he was being gaurded by 6’2 future insurance salesmen.. I do admit he consistently takes it very strong to the hoop when going 1 on none ..cdubbz wrote:Little Digger wrote:Speaking as somebody who’s been a lazy a** for my entire life, I can just tell by watching the way he moves and talks , Edwards is one of us .

In a way, I do hope we draft Edwards..I really like the kid as a person..and his talent is mind blowing..chances he becomes an impact player for us? Maybe 20%..but it will be a fun entertaining ride..

It's another contract year for Hayward, so he'll most likely play his socks off this upcoming season. I don't care if he walks next season because, like you said, he's becoming too injury-prone and getting older. It's just a good feeling to shed some dead weight aka Wiggins 3 year at nearly $95 mil left on his contract. I thought the idea was to give us cap flexibility the next 2-3 years to remain competitive and avoid the luxury tax? Did everyone have a change of heart?
Trust me: There aren't many takers for Wiggins and our #2 pick. Otherwise, we wouldn't have this debate. But, suppose we can wait leading up to the draft.
Huh? The discussion was to use the TPE + #2 for an impact player with the Celtics like Marcus Smart for the TPE + #2. If not, then get someone like Rudy Gay or James Johnson for just the TPE so their expiring contracts can be used as trade before the deadline. These players would also help fill backup roles. Hayward doesn't even fit the largest TPE. Certainly, Andrew Wiggins is worth more than way overpaying for a one-year rental who may not even be able to complete the season as backup.
There are conflicting reports that says that our TPE had already expired on 10/24. Haven’t heard or read about an official league deadline extension to use the TPE. Then again, free agency doesn’t start until sometime after the draft is over.
According to the CBA, the Warriors have one year, but the free agency was delayed and the period hasn't started yet. The Warriors had no chance to use it. The 10/24 expiration date for the TPE would have to be pushed back.
Here are the latest dates -- https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-timeline-key-dates-league-proposes-schedule-for-free-agency-start-of-2020-21-season-nba-draft-set/.

Wow, I like this kid even more now. He's looking at the bigger picture versus the fame and notoriety of being drafted first.
Edwards and Ball would play for the Tijuana Junk Yard Dawgs if they had the first overall pick.

Trying to validate the Windhorst claim about Wiseman not wanting to interview with Minnesota and ended up on the Timberwolves board.
Those guys are cracking me up as they are pissed he doesn't want to play there and are saying to draft him anyway. I wonder back in 2009 if they said the hell with Curry not wanting to play here, we'll draft two other PGs before he gets picked to teach him a lesson!

I think the Livingston comparison isn't the best (though I don't have a good suggestion) - Haliburton has range which Livingston doesn't have, though it's a pretty slow shot, but he doesn't have the size that Livingston has, or ability to post up for points that Shaun did. And the size thing is important, as Haliburton probably won't be able to defend any front court players well (no bulk, and not massive length), and may even struggle with some 2's.
My conclusion is that Haliburton is a high-floor, low-ceiling player...... I put him in the 8-10 draft range, not at the top level of the draft.
No one is saying draft him at two buddy. No one.
Where did I say they did? But I’ve seen a bunch of folks (myself included at one point) put him in the 4-6 range, and I think that’s too high for him. I put all of Wiseman, Edwards, Ball, Vassell, Okoro, Okongwu above him, off the top of my head.
Just read that Haliburton had the second most blocked shots of any guard. Kira Lewis had 18, Haliburton had 15, and that was in only 22 games. Pretty good I would say.

I like Kira Lewis, but how did he get 18 blocks?

Can he bang with Bron, AD and Kawhi?
Also this dude is 6'11" with 7'7" WS and can jump and set screens. No offensive game though and can't switch. But he can rebound, rim protect and finish at a high level

That enough for a 2nd round pick, I like Azubuike a lot. Those are things we need and his size and strength would be great for beating up on LeBron and AD for short stints, no one is bullying this guy in the paint.
Unfortunately I think he's off the board by the time our 2 picks come up, we'd need to move up. This is where trade scenarios with teams like Philly, Sacto, Washington, or NYK might be interesting as they have high second round picks.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread, Part 2
What should the Warriors do with the No. 2 pick? NBC Sports Bay Area's Grant Liffmann posed that question to former NBA player Rex Chapman during the latest episode of the "Runnin' Plays Podcast."
"That's tough," Chapman said. "And I'm sure that's what they're struggling with. What those guys have done out there, Steve [Kerr], Bob [Myers], they're so thoughtful, and they are, I think, playing chess. It's just been beautiful.
"When they traded for Andrew Wiggins last year, I thought it was brilliant. He's a young player that is perfect to grow with Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson], as a young guy, if he takes a step."
If it were up to Chapman, he doesn't see the Warriors holding on to the pick.
"I'm not sure that there's somebody in the draft this year that you can put right on that team and make a big difference," Chapman said. "So I almost look for them to try to package it in some way. Or make the pick and trade later down the road this season.
"But they're in a weird spot. But it's a good spot. Heck, they won the title a couple years ago and have the No. 2 pick. Come on."

Re: 2020 Draft Thread, Part 2
https://larrybrownsports.com/basketball/nba-draft-sleepers-killian-tillie-paul-reed/565890
1. Tillie
Tillie has two strikes against him – his age and his injury history. As a four-year player at Gonzaga, the French forward is already 22 years old. That can be a red flag if you’re discussing a player who hasn’t produced at a high level. Despite playing in crowded frontcourts his entire career at Gonzaga, Tillie has been the anchor of Mark Few’s defensive schemes and a key cog on the offensive end of the court. Tillie’s ability to score on the block and hit 44 percent of his 3-point attempts opened the court for so much of what the Zags were aiming to do.
That only happened when Tillie was on the court. He missed 22 games in the 2018-19 season and nine games in 2019-20 to injuries, leading to a disappointing back half of his career. If he had entered the draft after his sophomore year, he’d have been a first-round pick. Deep down, Tillie is still the same high IQ, high motor, versatile big man that teams once loved. If he can stay healthy, he clearly has value at the next level.
2. Reed
Like Tillie, Reed is on the older side at 21, having played three years at DePaul. Unlike Tillie, who flashed as a freshman and sophomore, Reed was more of a late bloomer. He didn’t produce in a meaningful way until the middle of his sophomore season. That can be a red flag for NBA scouts. Did the prospect improve or was he simply beating up younger, less experienced players?
In Reed’s case, there’s a strong argument for legitimate progress. More importantly, his production as a junior came in areas that translate well to the next level. His scoring increased, but he didn’t become a scoring machine unexpectedly. Instead, Reed dominated the glass and was a defensive menace. He posted 19 double-digit rebounding efforts this past season. Defensively, he nearly broke boxscores with some performances, including seven steals in 29 minutes against Xavier and eight blocks at Minnesota.
