If Post is about to arrive it puts us in an even better situation as a shooting big like Post is the perfect center next to all of Curry, Dray and Kuminga.

Well then I have to support the Warriors. :D

Fun fact is we never hear about Dutch basketball players playing in college. But last year there was an exception. First a couple of articles in a newspaper, and later a documentary on tv about the life of a player in college hoping to get drafted. But it was about Jesse Edwards. At the end of the documentary we heared about another Dutch player who might get drafted: Quinten Post. That was the first time I heard of him.

What was his Euro experience before college, if you know?

Spencer played in Santa Cruz, post did not. Looks like he's in the rotation until jk and dray return.

Youth league in the Netherlands I guess. He was in the same team as Edwards (Jesse) in Amsterdam. With another guy who played in college last year.
Basketball is a small sport in our country. Most kids start playing football (soccer). If they change to another sport like basketball then most of the time when they are 12 y or older.
Only if they grow a lot they have a chance to play in college.

I don't think so. Steve does pull him sometimes when he should when he's getting targeted on a rough matchup... other times like in the Portland game it seemed like he was in a unit that was on fire (starting the 2nd half) and they didn't go back to that unit, confusing.

He should be getting almost if not all of Al's minutes.

Post needs to play more. Why we didn’t start with post against Portland is a mystery to Kerr

Hopefully Post gets more run now that Kerr put Al into his DNP-old category for a week.

Post...hmmmm. I wonder if he'll ever be much better than he is now? Probably stronger? I love him...love his fire....but he's a border line defensive stiff.

I don't really see much room for improvement for either Post or TJD who were already 23 & 24 respectively when drafted.

Not better? Defensive stiff?? His three is not automatic like it was last season and he needs to diversify his offensive repertoire as teams are now wary of his shot. But his defense is MUCH better this season. He's on a pretty good sophomore track I would say, perfect fit for the team and a plus/minus leader - all when we thought Horford was gonna be that guy.

His mobility is pretty terrible. He's our worst PnR big on defense. His shot hasn't been great. Virtually every time he puts the ball on the deck he's turning the ball over. He has real trouble defending other bigs that have just a little bit of quickness.

His rim protection has improved noticeably since last season. His defensive rebounding is better. His body control and balance seem better, which indicates that his core strength has improved. He's a solid passer. He's smart and clearly capable of learning. For a late 2nd rounder, there's a lot to be pleased with.

But like all our young players(not named Kuminga) he's a below average NBA athlete. Post, Podz, Moody, Richards, TJD, Gui...they're all low talent grinders.

Warriors have a defensive rating of 101.4 this season with Quinten Post on the court, up from 109.1 last season. :dontknow:

I wouldn't mind seeing him improve his...well...post play offensively, but I'm not convinced he needs to do anything when he's out on the line, which is where he usually is. He's been trying to fake and drive or relocate lately, with disastrous results, and I mean EVERY TIME he tries something other than shooting or passing, that ball is getting turned over. But the thing is, the dude is 7 feet tall. Unless Wemby is on him, that shot isn't getting blocked. When's the last time you saw Post get blocked shooting a 3? Ever? Dribble-drive is not the answer for him IMO, it's ugly and dangerous and I don't see it getting better to the point where it yields better results than just shooting (or passing). His 3 ball is elite, he just needs reps and more confidence. Unlike with guards I don't think closeouts are a huge problem. Even if his defender wants to stick to him like glue, that's drawing the defense out and leaving a hole somewhere for someone else to exploit (hello, Jimmy, GP2, and JK).
