Hoping for a 100% recovery, not a speedy one. Gives him a chance at a long committed off season of body focus, and BBC a full pre-season of further development.

Sucks big time but I'm sure some people will be happy he is injured. Silver lining for me is... if his trade value goes down we get to keep him. I'm all about the journey and love developing our own talent...(Steph, Klay, Dray) and hate trying to just buy championships by getting stars (Durant) but that's just me. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

hopefully this is an outlier not a trend, but combined with his play on the court I'd say his value is essentially very little right now.

Wiseman trade value is a legitimate topic of discussion, it sucks that he's injured, but that's the point of me bringing it up in the first place, two injuries in less than 40 games, one of which pretty serious, we need to start talking about his trade value this off-season...it's very likely it's gone and any trade scenarios we throw out would have to disinclude JW

Why on Earth do we need to discuss his trade value if it's zero?

Not making sense. Must be all the blood rushing from your head

Look on the bright side...This injury provides cover for why he doesn't finish in the Top Ten in ROY voting.

He was 7th or 8th on the NBA.com board about a week ago

Here's an interesting (though admittedly 10 year old) article related to Wiseman's injury:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-nba-players-meniscus/most-nba-players-recover-from-meniscus-tears-idUSTRE7BF23P20111216

I found this part interesting:

"Most of the injuries weren’t related to contact with another player, and more than one-third of them came on gradually over time."

And another far more recent article discussing Zion Williamson's meniscus tear:

http://instreetclothes.com/2019/10/21/understanding-zion-williamsons-lateral-meniscus-tear/

Treatment involves either repair or removal (called a meniscectomy). Recovery from a meniscus repair takes months but has a better long term prognosis. In contrast, turnaround from a meniscectomy is far faster but can shorten the individual's playing career.

"A meniscectomy, or removal, is the more common of the two procedures and is often accompanied by a shorter recovery window. Following a meniscectomy, players can often return to activity within six weeks. Games lost due to meniscus injuries among NBA players is not dependent on which meniscus is damaged. However, the quick turnaround doesn’t come without consequences as removals do elevate the risk of long-term issues like osteoarthritis and other complications like cysts.

In contrast, an arthroscopic meniscus repair has better long-term results though the recovery time following surgery is often much longer. Recovery following a repair is often measured in months not weeks."

Most interested to watch a scrub rookie center when you have Steph Curry on your team. Man some of y’all are funny

lmao seriously, this board deserves this **** product they are getting now.

I am yet to experience you yourself being overly happy with the product, even when they had one of the best teams, if not the best team, of all time in 2017.

The wrist was nothing. If you fall on your wrist and weigh 250 lbs you will sprain it, usually without sequelae although soft tissue injuries can take a while to heal.

Not so a meniscal year unfortunately, one of the pluses was that he was a fluid athlete with no significant injury history and hence hopefully less prone to knee problems than most who are his size.

Wiseman is not yet Greg Oden. Not yet. He could turn out to be. But, for now, let's cut him some slack. As for Wiseman's value, he's obviously not worth much now. But, is LaMelo worth any more? He's down for the season too.

LaMelo is clearly worth more than wiseman and his value is still excellent regardless of injury. But Wiseman can have a bigger impact on winning if he turns into at least an average defensive player.

Sure, LaMelo still has great trade value, he can run a team. He wouldn't have helped the team's prospects this year more than Wiseman if he had gotten injured here though.

Does Wiseman being useless and injury prone change whether we should have listened to Dallas' offer of Kristaps Porzingis for Wiseman and draft picks?

Curry was "injury prone". Should have moved him early.

Curry has always had an unquestionable NBA level strength - his shooting. If Wiseman has one, he's keeping it a guarded secret.

There were tons of people who didn’t believe in Steph. Tons. Lots of people didn’t think he would make it. Don’t kid yourself.
