Looks like the Warriors are done adding players from the buyout market.

You gotta be Josh Smith level hated for a team to cut you with two years left on a contract.

Re: Free Agent Talk
Question: How do we get Abdel Nader on the squad? This guy is like a big guard/SF version of Draymond Green with better shooting. 6'5 with a 7'1 wingspan.

Wow. Sounds like an MVP candidate.... better than our All-Star Olympian. Must be playing for the Patriots, I assume?
Okay, snark aside, he was a 2016 2nd round pick by the Celtics (close to the Patriots, so I wasn't that far off), so they own his rights. And he's 6'8", and plays forward full-time.....

Re: Free Agent Talk
He's grown two inches since he was drafted(6'6 not 6'5, my bad)? He's gonna breakout, I'm calling it now. And the Celtics have no room for him between Crowder and Brown. I don't think Nader has Draymond's solid base and strength so I see him as more of a SF than a PF. I wonder if we can trade a 2nd for him. We gotta have a 2nd available by now, right?

Monta would never do anything to make himself be hated...

Re: Free Agent Talk
Supposedly Larry Sanders has multiple offers and will sign with a team soon.
Warriors won't do it because they are loyal to most of the players on the roster?
Hell they had an emotional parting with Weber, who was only with the team a couple of weeks.
If loyalty is the reason, then this FO is definitely not 10 years ahead.
If Sanders plays some good minutes in the playoffs for the Cavs, I'm going to be annoyed that they didn't even try.

I'll believe it when I see it. All I've heard is that he's still out of shape.

Casspi has been cleared to play, Warriors should go after him.

I'd be surprised if this FO goes after him.
Either they think they're so far ahead or they don't want to hurt players feelings by replacing one of them.

And that is my main issue with the front office. They are too arrogant and think they do not need to make moves. They do no even want to play Looney or Mcadoo , why not add a a guy who can play at the 3 or the 4 who can shoot?

if you have any issues with a front office that just got us Kevin Durant, idk what to say.
Also, theoretically, Matt Barnes can play at the 3/4, plays much better defense than Casspi and can shoot 3s on his day. He was averaging 7/5/3 and a steal earlier this year with Sac. It's not like we signed a stiff.
Also, keep in mind Casspi is coming off a broken thumb and would have to learn our incredibly intricate offense and somehow not be a detriment defensively.

Ok they got Durant, that doesn't mean they stop trying to improve the team. Our bench scoring is not the best, at a shooter to space the floor would help. If Looney and Mcadoo are just going to ride the bench put someone in their spot we can use.

I'd rather have 21 year old Kevon Looney on a small contract through 2019-2020 (where we hold a TO and he becomes a RFA the following year) than Omri Casspi, who is 28, wouldn't make us markedly better and likely only be here for half a season.
As for McAdoo, I don't think he's great or anything, but with how subpar Damion Jones has looked coming off the major injury (which is fine, we just can't depend on him this year) I'd prefer to have frontcourt depth than depth at guard...where we will likely see Klay/Steph playing for 40 mpg in the playoffs. Jones can't help us this year and if we're really just looking for players who know our system, can give some rest for starters through the end of the season and be available in an emergency capacity come playoff time, I really don't see where Omri fits in.
The only swap that would make sense is a like-for-like switch of him for Matt Barnes. And we just got Matt a week ago.

Re: Free Agent Talk
What kind of contract do you guys think Dedmon will get this offseason? If Durant takes the non-bird raise(I think that's what they call it), the Warriors would be able to keep Iguodala and still have the full-mle to offer a player in free agency. Dedmon has graded out as one of the top rim protectors this year, is only 27 years old, and would be a very nice fit in the starting lineup next year imo. If you can bring back McGee on the cheap and keep West(or even bring back Speights in that role), that would be nice. Dedmon/McGee/West(or Speights) would be a pretty awesome 3 headed monster considering the Warriors cap limitations. Not sure what kind of contract McGee would be looking at this summer...and Speights only got a vet minimum contract when he hit free agency last year. I wouldn't be surprised if West retires after this season but you never know...Thoughts on how the Warriors might use the mle if they have it at their disposal this summer? Edit: Just saw Patty Mills will be a free agent. If there's one guy I'd love from the Spurs on the Warriors, it's that guy. He would do wonders in fixing the Warriors 2nd unit offense. I'm not sure if the MLE would be enough to get him though.

Bring back AR from the Euroleague. Having a good season with Real Madrid.

Re: Free Agent Talk
Probably going to have to let either Iggy or Shaun walk so I'm putting my money on Iggy leaving. Hopefully Iggy and Shaun both take a vets minimum (Iggy probably won't as he's easily worth around 7m per year) and resign. Obviously resign KD and Curry to around 25m a year each. If the dubs can't get Alex Len or Mason Plumlee then Resign McGee or Zaza. Activate Damien Jones.
Hopefully the big 4 is retained, along with Shaun and Iggy with hopeful additions of Mason Plumlee (great defensive big who is still young), or Alex Len.
