Even for a healthy Siakam, it's a lot. Going back to the other thread, I would much rather do something like the (theoretical) #7 + #14 + Poole for #4 (Suggs), where we keep both Wiggins and Wiseman, and add a blue-chip rookie who can help us both next year and in the future (Suggs isn't gonna be a project like Wiseman). Suggs also likely solves our Steph off-court drastic drop-off issue at PG and would be great in a small-ball lineup alongside the starters as well.

It would be nice to get Suggs but even if you add a future FRP I still can't see it being agreed to. I agree that that would be a huge win now win later move though.

In any event, Harrison Barnes missed those and fans here were ready to throw him to the wolves.

Barnes consistently missed those over the course of his W's career. Poole didnt hit them in one game.

Barnes was gifted an amazing starting lineup where he was sandwiched with prime Curry, prime Klay, and prime Draymond. He was the distant 4th option in the offense. Poole played with Curry for 20% of his minutes.. there's really no comp here without a massive stretch

Considering our history of ripping the Wolves a new a-hole in trades and transactions, I always recommend we discard our unwanted players to Minnesota in trade.

Or perhaps your comment was more metaphorical.

The more I think about it, if our goal is to be a contender next season, the more I don't think Wiggins will be traded unless for a bona fide impact player.

We will be cautious with Klay and he will not be back until December. I wouldn't be surprised if we are extra careful and keep him out until the AS break.

Who can actually defend opponent's wings with Klay out, and Wiggins traded? For those who actually watched the games last season, who in the league is actually a clear upgrade over Wiggins for our purpose i.e. 2-way SF/SG? Maybe 5 but not than 10 players I believe?

Agree. I think Wiggins makes way for a big dog or not at all...it won't be a marginal talent upgrade like Siakam, particularly not when it creates other roster holes. Durability and system fit don't show up on the stat sheet and Wiggins ticks both boxes.

If going by the trade board, gsw shouldnt trade him. Let the deal run out and try to get a team-friendly deal when hes still only 28.

Many real gm basketball fans consider him as one of the worst players in the league.

GS will have to put Klay on the court the moment he is medically cleared, because Klay will insist and you don't want to burn that bridge. I expect him back early in the season, perhaps even at the start. He will likely seem <100%, but I won't be worried unless he still looks that way at end of season.

That's optimistic, Myers is talking about December for Klay.

Reading between the lines with Klays comments is merely that early on when he gets into games, he’s gonna be on a minute restriction and they will just slow play it until he gets in game shape and he feels comfortable.

They will manage him like the Nets did with KD. No back to backs…..minute restrictions….etc.

I would guess that if it is december, its because he is not cleared by medical staff earlier.

I am sure Klay will want to return being the competitor that he is.

He has also been talking to KD a few times per week. Seeing how KD has performed after sitting out 1 year and 6 months, hopefully Klay and the health staff can find the balance and make sure Klay's return is as strong as KD's.

Klay was injured on 11/18/2020.

December return = 1 year and 1 month
Feb (AS break) return = 1 year and 3 months

Glen Robinson III gave the Warriors better statistical production in his brief Warrior stint with better 3 point shooting on higher volume than Barnes. He's a different guy now, but his time as a Warrior gets very overrated.

If youre offering Siakam for Wiggins straight up, lets talk. If you aren't, why do you think Siakam is untouchable?

I am simply saying that some folks think that Wiggins is untouchable, which clearly isn't the case.

I never said that Siakam is untouchable lol.

Don't get so worked up about this.

You have yet to point to a single person anywhere who has said Wiggins is untouchable. Just talking bs.

I was speaking in general (not just about the folks ITT lol). Quit talking BS.

So no one has called Wiggins untouchable, but you were just "speaking in general." What does that even mean?

Shouldn’t you be arguing with philly fans about how invaluable Simmons is? This rumor was always silly.
