Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
Horford seemed to be out of the picture for OKC in the 2nd half, so I think everyone knew he was getting moved in the offseason. #16 is the key for OKC and if Walker can show any modicum of health, he could be a good pair with Gilgeous-Alexander. Considering it's Presti though, Walker could be on the move, but I think the contract isn't too attractive right now. It's probable that Walker spends 21-22 with OKC. Moses Brown had some good moments, but also had some moments of "blah". I think he has non-guaranteed money as well, so he's sort of a bet for Boston. Salary dump for Boston, OKC gets a top 16 pick are the main points of the deal.

OKC now possesses at least three first round picks in each of the next six drafts. And they're not even close to being done yet. They'll probably trade Horford for another first round pick at the trade deadline. Then, rather than extend Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, they'll trade him for another three or four first round picks. As long as Sam Presti has a job there, OKC is the gatekeeper over all future NBA drafts.

You said in the earlier post that Presti would trade Horford at the deadline but they just traded him. I’m guessing you meant to say Kemba.

Oh yeah, you're right. My continued awe at what Presti is doing got the better of me.

Is there any chance of a sign and trade of Oubre for Joe Harris?

Sure, Probably have to get the Nets to throw in another player or something to make it work if Kelly gets the $20M he wants.

The Nets have even higher team salary than the Warriors next season, no way they can take a S&T player.

Hehe, yeah I forgot that rule applied to teams not the Warriors.
Question for you ... what is Blake Griffins situation with regards to the Nets options to re-sign him? I assume they basically have the TPMLE and vet mins only as options for him?

Anybody who would not take Harris for a $0 cap hit is not paying attention.
Keep in mind Luol Deng is going to be paid $5M next year.

Apart the fact that free was referring to acquire him not to his salary, it was a figure of speech.
You don’t have to always take everything literally....

Their only other option is to use the non-Bird exception on him. A FA who finishes one season with a team can be re-signed at 120% of his salary, using this exception. In Griffin's case that would be a 20% raise on his minimum salary.

Right, part of me knew that.
But, no matter what he gets paid he doesn't make any more money right because the Pistons still owe him right? Or does it make a difference to his bottom line?
