"Can Stephen Curry get better?"

It looks like Lala Anthony is headed toward free agency. I'd take her on a short term deal...wouldn't want a long term commitment though.

Re: Free Agent Talk
Any interest in Vince Carter for the vet min?
He intends to play next year and is fairly close with Steph due to the Toronto connection from all I know. Great guy who has found a way to contribute as a veteran on and off the court. That said, his defensive ability is limited at this point and he's not really efficient as a scorer anymore - although, as we all know, this could very well change in Golden State if he's buying into the system.
I like him and would like his presence but I'm also fully aware of his limitations. What do you guys think: if he's interested in joining us, would you pull the trigger and give him a roster spot? Does it depend on certain conditions?

Just thought about him myself and looked up his contract status. I would take him for the vet min, always has been one of my favorite players in the league. Would probably replace Ian Clark who we can't afford anymore next season.

Re: Free Agent Talk
I watched the Grizzlies played and thought it was a problem that they had to give so many minutes to ZBo and VC. It meant their drafts had gone bad.
VC not only played but put up shots which would be bad shots on the Warriors.
If he sat in the corners and got wide open looks it would be okay. He couldn't do all the off ball movement that Ian does. So not a good replacement.

McCaw is not going to the D league and Shaun is gone.

I would take Vince at vet min

Re: Free Agent Talk
If the Warriors lose role players after this season, one possibility might be Ben McElmore, who's an RFA.
He was the #7 pick in 2013 and his stock seems to be down. Not a great shooter by any means, 41.7/35.2/78.0 for his career. 9.4 PPG for his career, and his best year was 2014/15 when he averaged 12.1.
The Kings have Hield, who shot better (48.0/42.8/81.4). Clearly he's their future at SG, while McElmore just averaged the lowest MPG of his career at 19.1.
Besides that, the Kings have 2 lottery picks (their own and the Pelicans' pick from the Cousins trade) as well as #34, also from the Pelicans. So at least two roster spots for rookies next year, which makes it even more likely that the Kings won't match an offer for McElmore.
Now what if his stock was so down that the Warriors could get him to replace Clark for the minimum? He earned over $4 million on the last year of his rookie deal so of course he's going to look to get paid. Some team may decide to give him more than a minimum contract, since he was a mid lottery pick and he still very young.
But if he's overlooked ...

We have no chance at BMac unless he doesn't get a QO, even the Miles Plumlee's of the world are getting 10 a year these days so I'm guessing BMac gets a contract that makes people think "WTF".

Re: Free Agent Talk
Probably right, too much potential for talent-deprived teams like Brooklyn not to take a flier.
But he'd be a good type of ring chaser and for his career, he'll likely get more open looks than on most other teams so he could boost his career shooting percentages.

Lawd looking at that list we are royally screwed if/when Shaun leaves, best I can see is some reclamation project like Trey Burke or MCW but they both seem too dumb for this team.

Re: Free Agent Talk
Speaking of which, Simmons is putting on a display right now.
He'll get qualifying offers for sure.
Hopefully Gasol takes the player option next year and hampers the Spurs' cap.

Re: Free Agent Talk
My top 3 targets this summer by position. Assuming a maxed out Curry and another 1 year deal for KD so we get bird rights next summer on him:
PG -(1) Livingston (2) Michael Carter Williams (3) Grevis Vazaquez
Why - All three are large bodies that can play next to Curry or Klay. MCW I think could be a long-term piece if he buys into the Livingston game plan.
SG - (1)Thabo Sefolosha (2) Ian Clark (3) Tony Allen
Why -Defenders that can play team ball. Clark get's a chemistry bonus.
SF - (1) Andre Iguodala (2) Omri Casspi (3) Matt Barnes
Why - Iguodala is likely back. Casspi is 6-9 SF who can score and pass. Barnes has fit surprisingly better than I expected. Ideally we get all 3 this summer.
PF - (1)Pau Gasol (2) David West (3) David Lee
Why - Pau Gasol will likely get priced out of our range, but the two davids bring depth and familiarity.
C - (1)Andrew Bogut (2) Javale McGee (3) Zaza Pachulia
Why - Can't imagine Bogut wants to come back, but I can dream. All 3 have familiarity with team and the system.
As of now we have 7 players under contract next year, and we need 8 more. Here's my ideal, semi-realistic depth chart for 2018:
Projected Depth Chart
PG - Curry/Michael Carter Williams
SG- Thompson/Thabo Sefolosha/Ian Clark
SF - KD/Iguodala/Omri Casspi/McCaw
PF - Green/David West/Looney
C - Zaza Pachulia/Javale McGee/Jones

Re: Free Agent Talk
MCW looked horrible for the Bulls, especially in the playoffs after Rondo got injured.
Was as if he had no business being out on an NBA court. Bizarre because he was rookie of the year.

We don't play West at the 4 and wouldn't play Pau or Lee at PF either. At the same time we would probably only play Matt Barnes or Caspi at PF so you'd have to move them over IMO.
EDIT: Didn't notice the Kevin part, you get bird rights after 3 years so you'd be a year short.
