Ayton can't play center here. I mean I can't see a world in which that ends well.

Kuminga can sign the QO or have it rescinded, gotta ditch that cap hold.

Gotta have some patience while Kuminga tries to find anyone to pay him 25m or more. I doubt thats happening and would expect we can keep him while keeping the TPMLE.

Nothing has really changed other than Lopez going for more than we could pay and Yabu going for an amount we could have afforded…

Just have to lock in one of Horford/Mamu/Nance. Then shift to landing a backup PG like Morris or Payne (maybe Brogdon?). Then grab a cheap 3/D like Melton.

And who knows, maybe a S&T or something crazy is still in the works. It’s less than 24 hours since free agency and we have like 5 “burn everything!” threads going lol

Draymond quits when he knows he doesn't have a chance. Fair

Turner struggled against OKC, as do most centers. Particularly, when OKC went small. I thought Turner was a primary reason why they went away from the 2 big lineup, even before the series started. He really tailed off as the series progressed but his success is more PG dependent that anyone else on that team. Which makes sense considering he's a C that can't dribble. He OWNED Chet and Hartenstein in the games Indy won, particularly on the defensive end.

He's a flawed player but he's certainly far better than Horford. Just look at the success he had against MIL and Cle, two teams that had to play big. With his shooting and rim protection, he'd be an awesome defensive big next to a great defensive QB like dray. I wouldn't have moved dray for him but pairing those two would have been amazing. The argument that we already had the #1 defense post jimmy trade and should look for shot creation and 3pt shooting instead of giving up moody and buddy does make sense. @ 26M/yr, it's a great contract for MIL, as well.

Turner played 40 + minutes once the entire playoff run. He was getting less minutes against the knicks and the thunder as those series were ending. Against Cle he played under 26 minutes twice. He's a rotation big, which is what Horford is. Maybe he's better but it's not by much and definitely not worth waiving draymond for.

I wouldn't waive dray but i would have moved buddy, moody and tjd for Turner.

He did play less and less minutes but, again, I think it was because teams went small so Turner would stop killing their centers. He's not super athletic so he does struggle against smaller lineups. playing him 25-30 mins a night in the RS and playoffs would be such a huge improvement over starting horford and gambling on health and age holding up for a 40 year old. We'll need 60+ RS starts and hopefully 20+ playoff games.

Sure, maybe our C won't close that many, but we do need someone to start them all. If Al doesn't lose another step, stays healthy, and can log ~2000 minutes next season [b]while still [/b} being fresh for the playoffs, great. But 25 mins/game for 80 games is how we keep TJD off the court and I think that will be a key for next season.

Mamu just went for vet minimum…. okay thats the first one that i’m officially mad we didn’t go for. Last time I wanted a cheap center with this obvious of a fit was Goga.

We need to give JK and his camp a date of July 6th to either find a S&T option or sign an extension with us (e.g $60m / 3 years with PO in 3rd). If his camp doesn’t accept then pull our extension offer from him and let the market determine his value. Warriors need to step up the pressure on JK’s camp to get to a resolution so we can move on to sign FA.

He isn't a great fit, and he certainly has his issues. But as it is, you're likely giving those minutes to someone like TJD. That doesn't seem better. He doesn't look like a former #1 pick, but if you can get him for close to a minimum deal, that's a steal even with his limitations.

I think Kerr would try it, and it would fail.

Pretty sure we can't do this. We already made the QO, can't take it back arbitrarily.

Yeah, I would stay far away from Ayton even if they get desperate. Dude is going to be a much larger part of a problem than a solution. You think Kuminga and Kerr are a problem? Ayton would be much worse.

Feels like Horford or nothing right now. I hope Post is ready for a big year because he's going to get a lot of PT. Buy hey, Dwight Howard is always ready, right?

Kerr will hate him even more than JK.

I’m taking about a contract extension offer, but we also have an option to rescind the QO by 7/14.

I might be wrong actually. I just saw that MIL withdrew their QO on Ryan Rollins so maybe that is a thing.

Sidenote: Should we sign Ryan Rollins?

Backup plan might be Bol Bol. And also hope Houston waive Landale for Kerr's recent love of kangaroos.

I would actually be OK with either of them considering the dwindling options. Landale would be a good fit, if he's available.

It's not an extension, it's a new FA contract which can't be signed until July 6.

I'm still really confused why we didn't go after Mamu. I can't imagine all things being equal we would've lost out to Toronto.
