Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
Cousins was a beast before that injury. Very similar to Embiid and one of the reasons Embiid on the Warriors scares me. I don't think its a great fit even without the potential health worries.
When you have steph/klay, and Dray involved in the PnR, there's really no need for a center that demands more touches than anyone not named Steph.
Of course i'd talk myself into a scenario where Embiid was a Warrior, but I do think for what it would cost i'd rather just get pieces that fit with our style.

He is miles better than the Warriors Cousins. The health concern is real and also fit is questionable (he is a question mark on transition offense) but I would take that risk. They have to rest him a lot in the regular season like Kawhi if the Warriors get him. He can match up well with AD, Gobert, Jokic (all of them are in the west by the way). The rest of the roster is too talented to take care of the opponent. It is rather 30-40% chance for championship.
There's also the uncomfortable and widely acknowledged(including by Brett Brown) issue of Embiid being a lousy passer. How would that work in Kerr's scheme? I had enough of watching two offenses, Kerr's pace-and-space and KD's iso-ball, try and coexist on the same team for a lifetime.

Embiid just had a baby. He might be ready to turn a corner now into maturity.

I do not disagree with fit concerns. He has plenty of downsides. Health, fit on offense, work ethic (?), his ego (?).
Upside: fit on defense and his talent. Also in the playoffs half court offense is more important so he is supposed to perform better in the playoffs. Also, it is up to him and Kerr to find a new a new strategy on offense. He should accept the fact that offense through him is a plan b.
Solution for his health issues: load management.
His problems look manageable to me.

not a huge fan of Gordon but as a framework I would do it for Vucevic. There would need to be filler to make the salaries work.

The Warriors would have to add $7M+ in salary to make that work, which would be difficult with the current Warrior payroll. Even adding Looney they would still be several million short.

First of all thx for the replies. Second vuc has a decreasing contract so should be lower next year but not sure about gordon's I think it's the same amount maybe that could help a bit

The specifics: As a taxpaying team, the Warriors can take back 125% of the salary they send out. Wiggins salary is about 29.5M, so they can take back about $36.8M. Vuc + Gordon = $44M, so they are about $7M+ short.
Edit: Those are next year's salaries.

Are you suggesting #2 + Wiggins for Embiid + Josh Rishardson + Korkmaz?
What drug are you slipping into the Philly water coolers to get them to even entertain such an offer?
I actually don't think they value Embiid that highly(respective to other top players) and will value him even less when Pringles forces him out of town.

Trade TPE and pick #2 to Chicago for Satoransky and Lauri (16.7m combined).
Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Green, Lauri
Satoransky, 2m TPE, MLE, Paschall, Looney

TPE + #2 for Coby White and WCJ sounds alot better
Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Green, WCJ
White, 10m TPE, MLE, Paschall, Looney
Btw I do not understand what you mean by 10m TPE. We have 17.2m TPE and MLE. Where did 10m TPE come from?

The Bulls are pretty much top to bottom a "meh" collection of players, not paying for any of them.

Oh it was meant to be 2m. I thought warriors have a 2m TPE also.
Yeah that trade sounds better but not sure what's fair. I think bulls have the best combination of players to get back from the #2 pick and the TPE. Honestly, they have a number of competing young players that could be better than they are in a new system.

They are young players with potential but perhaps not in the right system. Pick 2 in this draft is exactly a sure thing. Some of these bulls players are already.

Sato is very very very bad and won't get minutes here after we find out how bad he is both on offense and defense. Lauri will not start at C for us, in both regular season and playoffs so it's a very bad deal. Any offer involving Bulls have to include a future pick, specifically from 2021 draft if not then no offer will work

So we trade the pick in the hopes that the Bulls are just not in the right system and aren't just Bulls level players instead of just drafting a player at 2 because ... reasons?
In a somewhat unrelated topic I don't get why people keep trying to stick us with Lauri and Aaron Gordon, we are set in literally one spot and it's PF but yeah let's just play them at C because ... reasons?

Green has played C a number or times. Lauri has the height to offer support at PF.
I guess it's about risking #2 is a good or bad player that will take a few years to develop. Or you trade the pick for some players that are already on verge of starter level but also have potential to get better with more space.
