If he's off the team by the end of the season the tax penalty is mitigated some (I think).

The tax is computed on the team salary as of the day of the last regular season game. If a player is traded away before the end of the season, then none of his salary is taxed.

Thanks. So the Warriors could delay the decision on Oubre until the trade deadline while Klay is working his way back.

Really appreciate your knowledge and details on these things! Thank you. I prefer to make trades why firmly standing in the clouds lol

I forgot about Christian Wood in Houston. Has anyone talked about trading for him?

IMO he is the PERFECT center for the Warriors. He's athletic....shoots 37% from three. I remember watchin him when we played Houston and I kept saying...."Who is THIS guy?"

He's a legit center height. Can score....26 so that's a bit older than Houston might like in a full teardown rebuild.

Warriors send Re-signed Oubre, Paschall, Wiseman, #7 pick for Christian Wood and Danuel House

Why for Houston? They get younger and another pick. Wiseman can mature with the same time table. Wood and House are both older players that won't get them into the playoffs so why play them? They can send Oubre out for another pick.

I think the more realistic trade would be something like Wiseman/EP/14/Filler for Wood/House

Curry/Poole
Klay/Moody
Wiggins/House
Green/JTA
Wood/Looney

Wood ain’t worth Wiseman+7. That’s fools gold. Especially if the reasoning would be Houston not seeing Wood as young enough for their rebuild. They’d see Wiseman as his replacement if they were to consider. I’d still hate to give up on Wiseman this early but this would be tempting since it gives us better depth. House pretty solid at time too.

My Rockets fan friends don't really like him as an empty stats guy. Bad decision maker, bad defense. He can score though.

Yeah, I see him the same way…. So I’m not really sold on these proposals bringing Wood back and sending out some pretty good assets. I’ll pass on those…….

The "surround Steph with role players" route:

Wiseman and Paschall for Kyle Anderson, Tillman, Bane

Draft Mitchell and Kispert
TPMLE - Mills
Vet Min - Dieng

Steph / Mills / Mitchell
Klay / Poole / Bane
Wiggins / Kispert / Lee
Dray / Anderson / JTA
Looney / Tillman / Dieng

Seems like kind of a lateral move.

Doubt Memphis would trade with a potential rival for playoffs berth. Even then, those are two rookies who played well and Memphis is not giving up on cheap contracts. Besides they have JV so Wiseman probably not that appealing to them, though I guess he’s from that Area.

Ya this is my guess as well. Warriors fans will probably think its not getting enough back for a potential all star down the road, and memphis is probably pretty set with those role players. I do think its solid value both ways IF Memphis is looking more at 3-5 years from now.

we should still keep a close eye on Clippers and see if there is possible to get PG. if not then we should trade for depth or other options.

I wouldn’t touch PG13 with a 10 foot pole. No thanks.

maybe talent wise but better fits schematically, and WC should be able to actually contribute at a higher level next season than Wiseman.

I completely agree. He’d be an incredible fit with Curry, Klay, and Draymond. Probably just about the bet fit of any player in the league, aside from KD…….

I'm not sure the schematic fit is better though. Wiseman is a better shooter, and his potential is certainly far higher. Carter may be better next year, but not a LOT better. I'd rather keep Wiseman and find a TPMLE vet center to start.
