What about Turner? There was a lot of talk about Turner last off season so Indy would probably trade him if they got a good enough return.
Would he contribute more than WCJ or Rashaun Holmes?

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
Am I the only one that thinks that if say something crazy happens like Kawhi being available, it would be stupid to trade for him if it meant totally gutting our roster? Or would you still do it. Like if the offer was Wiggins/Wiseman/7/14, then I would consider it. But even an extra first round pick or young talent like Poole added to that would kill the deal for me. His injury history and character issues are a big negative for me these days.

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
I said somewhere else that gutting the roster for a star will always have supporters. Some fans have no interest in anything but next year, and would happily give away everything to get a Kawhi or PG on the roster, even if it crippled us in the future (and with the luxury tax now.) The fact that we have been climbing out from under getting Durant for two years now doesn't seem to resonate for them. And Durant was that rare, drop-everything player, and there are only about three or four of those.
PG and Kawhi, in my mind, don't fit that mold because -- especially in Kawhi's case -- their injury history, and Kawhi's restless moves from franchise to franchise. Plus, apparently his uncle (his main advisor) really wants him in LA, for other reasons than just playing basketball.

IMO he is the PERFECT center for the Warriors. He's athletic....shoots 37% from three. I remember watchin him when we played Houston and I kept saying...."Who is THIS guy?"

He's a legit center height. Can score....26 so that's a bit older than Houston might like in a full teardown rebuild.
Warriors send Re-signed Oubre, Paschall, Wiseman, #7 pick for Christian Wood and Danuel House
Why for Houston? They get younger and another pick. Wiseman can mature with the same time table. Wood and House are both older players that won't get them into the playoffs so why play them? They can send Oubre out for another pick.
My Rockets fan friends don't really like him as an empty stats guy. Bad decision maker, bad defense. He can score though.
That's good input. Folks that watch the players every night know the difference.

Personally, I'd be happy to keep Wiseman and the picks and find a way to pick up Millsap and Wayne Ellington for next year. I know PM's a free agent. Can't remember about Ellington, but I think his contract with Detroit is ending soon. Anybody else know?

I've always liked Ellington, though I admit I don't know what he has left in the tank at age 34. He's a free agent, and seems like he could be had for the minimum. That's what he made for the Pistons last season.

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
I'm a HUGE Millsap fan, I'm sure he's deteriorated but I loved him from the moment he was drafted. Never expected him to be that good, thought he was just a rebounding Fortson-esque monster, and IIRC he was a SRP that a lot of people here liked back in the day
I get the feeling he'll get one of those Tony Parker specials though, a 2-20 deal from some treadmill team looking for a 15mpg who's basically an on-court coach. But if the option is out there, I'd be all over it.. he'd be our new David West

Ellington is still playing well, from what I've seen. Millsap has lost a step, and can't play a ton of minutes, but he'd be great in the David West role giving you all that smart and all that experience. And he can still body up inside, too.

Bulls fan, I saw a random tweet about the Dubs wanting to pair Lavine with Curry as the new splash brothers.
Any rumblings here about that?

Are you talking about some article on BR talking about a trade that involved a sign and trade of Oubre, the 7th and 14th pick, and 4 other 1st round picks and/or swaps for Lavine? Really unrealistic for the Warriors to consider it.

That was it. Out of curiousity what would you offer for LaVine?killmongrel wrote:MalagaBulls wrote:Bulls fan, I saw a random tweet about the Dubs wanting to pair Lavine with Curry as the new splash brothers.

Me? I wouldn't offer anything. I'm sure he's a good player who'll get offers from other teams. But his fit next to Steph would be dubious. He's also on the last year of his contract, so giving away important assets for a rental just doesn't make sense because I doubt the Warriors would have any interest in re-signing. Plus I don't think Lavine would want to come off the bench when Klay starts. Other teams with interest of re-signing him will be willing to offer more to the Bulls.

You might be right, but I don’t see a 2/10 mil deal out there for him. I see nothing but vet min. And if he came here for that fine. I’ve always liked him too. Calming influence out there.

Might be more like, “Hey Kelly check out this cool video we posted of you and your highlights! Joe doesn’t hate you, we just hope you think about us in a possible trade from a team that could net us a TE!”

Not really, but O would love to trade for Lavine.
I think his fit with Steph and Klay would be awesome. I saw a ton of growth in Lavine this season and his three point shot looked good. I liked his maturity this season as well.
However, the fact that you guys just dealt for Vucevic, I think the Bulls will give it one more go before thinking about something that drastic. You would know better as a Bulls fan.
But if they want our draft picks and stuff, I’m all over it.

Has Lavine ever made the team he/was on a winning team? Despite his numbers does he make any material difference between winning record or losing?
He just appears like a guy that focuses completely on the offensive side....and if he has ever affected the game defensively to help win a game...I'm not sure I've ever seen it.
I just don't trust low hoops IQ guys...and that's the kind of player he seems to be.
Bulls fan....do I have that right?

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
at the end of the season I thought for sure that Oubre had played his last game for the Warriors but lately there has been talk about him possibly signing with the team. Considering Klay's return may take some time it makes a little sense to bring him back and possibly trade him at a later time. Or if they trade Wiggins/Wiseman/picks without a wing coming back, there might still be a role for Oubre with the team.

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
I'm coming 'round to acquiring Ben Simmons....but...
For Draymond Green and not Wiggins.
Reasons:
1 - Draymond is passing his prime. Only real opportunity to transition off him and still have a top defensive team.
2 - Simmons is a massive talent (imperfect as he is) and he's MUCH younger than Draymond.
3 - Draymond and Simmons can NOT be on the same team, so Wiggins in the trade doesn't make sense.
4 - For Simmons to be effective, every other player on the floor must be able to score the ball. Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Wiseman all have that ability (Wiseman is a work in progress but has the offensive skills.
5 - Different from other trades, Philly is not likely to insist on Wiseman.
6 - Simmons is an actual point guard...so while Draymond can run the offensive sets...he doesn't have the ability to take over the second unit and run it like Simmons would.
7 - Simmons might upgrade his offense slightly around Curry and Klay....their influence and confidence building might help.
8 - Warriors remain a top defensive team with the swap.
Doc Rivers KNOWS the value of Draymond Green. He's been beaten by him a number of times. It's a good fit for Philly who has other scorers including Seth Curry, Danny Green and Tobias Harris.

LMAO like Philly is going to trade for basically the older version of Ben Simmons.
