Is that based on intuition and Warriors need?

I'm on board with Warriors drafting and keeping (barring a decent trade down) LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards. I'm not as sure on Deni Avdija as he was a trade down target. Only rumor that he knocked the socks off the Warriors brass during his workout and interview keeps him up there at #2. Wiseman is below Avdija as there hasn't been enough rumors that he is the Warriors pick. It could be they haven't talked with him yet and seen his workouts. In workouts, he looks impressive with his shooting. In mocks, Wiseman has been falling since the TWolves said they'll take him to see if Warriors or Hornets bite. They didn't, so it's back to LaMelo at #1.

It’s based on how annoyed I am reading all of the angling from so many people. Not just here, but everywhere you look. People are nitpicking themselves into madness.

And the “eventually proven right” is based on my thoughts about how good I KNOW Wiseman is going to be. I don’t want to add comparisons to guys in the League, but I believe he’s going to be an All Star. Especially if he comes to a team like ours and doesn’t have to waste away for some crap team.

I’ve been on Wiseman since I watched him in 2019. I have not wavered and I’m totally positive he’s going to be good. Chance to be great.

Mark Spears was on the radio today raving about Wiseman. Anybody who knows Mark Spears knows that he doesn’t talk for clicks. He is just a totally dialed in NBA reporter.

He said out of all the draft prospects he’s ever interviewed, Wiseman is the guy where he walked away saying WOW.

He also speaks Mandarin, so he’s hella smart. Mark Spears doesn’t usually go out on a limb on players. Neither do I, but I’m sitting on this limb right now.

The last guy I was this adamant about was Kawhi.

Wiseman was known as “injury prone” during his high school years.

But he made it through his college career with no injuries..

Pretty sure the dub’s go for Wiseman if they keep the #2..rest easy

Hoping for a trade but I’m definitely not ruling out the possibility that I’m dead wrong and the kid is a future superstar

Just not enough game action for me to give you guys the real score..I miss 1978

It appears there is a recent article (3 days ago) on Wiseman. Bob Myers watched the Oregon game. The Warriors would draft him as a defensive stopper.

JWasserman:
“General manager Bob Myers showed up to Wiseman’s game against Oregon back in November, and given the team’s need for frontcourt help, it’s become easier to picture Golden State drafting an athletic center who can immediately play to his strengths, finishing off the lineup’s shooters and passers.”

KO'Connor
“There isn’t a better place for Wiseman to address his weaknesses than Golden State. During the early stages of Wiseman’s NBA career, he could fill the rim-running, rim-protecting role that JaVale McGee played for years, but he’ll hopefully evolve into much more once his shot creation and floor awareness improve.”

Main thing I noticed from his YouTube page is he posted a lengthy video giving advice to hoopers.

Usually kids his age wouldn’t bother doing something like that. It’s not like anyone forced him to make that video, too. He genuinely wanted to share some of the wisdom he has so far. So while he has a calm and quiet demeanor, he definitely has a passion and dedication for the game.

Also saw a vid of him in high school where he mentioned he knew how to speak Mandarin. Has a great mindset to learn and improve himself both on and off the court.

Supposedly Wiseman plans on giving back and being a part of the wider NBA community’s outreach.

Don't take Deni Avdija article:

"He isn’t ready for the NBA
Deni Avdija has played professionally for two years now. However, he has not played as good of competition as what it is the NBA.

In the EuroLeague, Deni played for the Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. In his second year with the team, Deni played just 14 minutes a game. Deni also played a combined 34 games in his two years as a pro.

Deni Avdija Is 6’9” and 220 pounds. So I don’t think him getting no playing time was because of his size like it sometimes is in high school basketball.

I think Deni Avdija has not had enough experience at the European level to be such a high pick in this year’s draft. If he can go back to the EuroLeague for one more year, and play a whole season it would benefit him hugely.

He does not look very good on paper
Deni Avdija’s numbers are not very good for someone who is projected to be a top-five pick in the 2020 NBA draft.

In his first season of EuroLeague play with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, Deni averaged just three points per game on six minutes per game.

The next year, Deni would play eight more minutes a game, and score about the same amount of points per game.

I have seen scouts say that he does more than just score, but I don’t see that either. He averaged just one assist and two rebounds a game in his second year."

At least, it's not Kevin O'Connor  .

Coach Nick from Bball breakdown just released a pretty good breakdown. Apparently his shot is off because of the way he was taught to never bring the ball down.

Looks like the top 6 to me. They'll probably try to be in that range for any trade up/down.

Return to Golden State Warriors
