Ashamed. Embarrassed. Dumbfounded.

Last night, rape culture, misogyny, bigotry and xenophobia won.

Can't wait till Cali leaves this **** country.

There is a saying for this; opinions are like ****, everyone has one and thinks that their's doesn't stink.

All the stories the last couple days about "watch out for Trump supporters after their loss" and now the protests with vandalism and violence have already began, mostly on the west coast.

I voted for Bernie in the primaries and was force fed Clinton. I voted Trump because he is a change from this crap. Not that my vote mattered anyways, Clinton won California as was expected.

That's not true. If there was a social effect (voting Tump but saying you voted Clinton) it was pretty small. The popular vote polling was only off by about 1%.

Regardless of political leanings the big take away is how many people don't fully research candidates and issues, but merely are driven by the sound bite media.

Its a referendum on the establishment politicians, and elite media. When you call large portions of the country "fly over country", you have to realize that you're alienating a gigantic block of voters. And not just redneck white people either. Its kind of why Bernie had such a huge following, he was and is considered an outsider by the elite media and they fought to ruin his chances behind the scenes.

People are tired of establishment politicians on every side of the aisle, republicans, democrats, and any other affiliation in power, that doesn't listen to the voting block. Of they only listen for when they are up for re-election, then it goes back to the same ol.

I would say this to anyone....just try not to listen to one side of any argument, but do some homework. Don't be fully guided by what Hollywood and the Elite Media have to say. They are entrenched in the "System", so it stands that they want things to remain the same, which is evidenced in much of the wikileak stuff, and also in the video undercover work by James O'Keef.

I also feel like the recent increases in premiums for the Affordable Health Act, lol, had a big effect on some of the voters. Ours increased 30%, but some cities across the country were rising by nearly 100%.

I don't think that Trump will have his hand on the button as some fear. I also think that the fact that he understands business and what it takes to run one, he will put good managers in cabinet positions and also get more people back to work (who want to). I also want to hold him to his comments about focusing on inner cities and getting the African American community back to work. That is a pledge that he really has to follow through with.

Clinton is the epitome of establishment politics. That's the simplest way I can put it.

Not sure, you may know better, but doesn't New York and California skew that popular vote? And while those votes are all legitimate citizens casting them, right now are system isn't for two states to have such a large affect on who is elected president.

That's one thing that Trump had going for him. Too bad it was overshadowed by his and his supporters' complete and utter belligerence and hateful bigotry.

I doubt it. To me I don't understand the "anti establishment" idea. If that's the stance, you voted the rich racist white guy. What bothers me is just the hate the man spews constantly, and how half the voters could see that and think "yeah, that's who I want in charge". Its just sad.

So do you believe that people who voted for Trump did so because hes a racist and hella rich? lol

Why do you think Bernie had such a huge movement going? He's considered anti establishment.

Clinton is the epitome of establishment. And shes hella rich. And she made most of her fortune through their foundation, which may have some legal troubles, and while an official of the government.

A lot of Republicans are establishment, and do nothing that they ran on to get elected.

DC is full of status quo establishment and most americans feel they don't represent them. This aint hard to understand if you really look into it.

Oh, no. But saying "I'm anti establishment" while voting for the guy born into wealth spouting bigotry is a bit of a stretch. I was a Bernie supporter myself but went Clinton because even by anyone's standards I can't find a good reason to vote Trump. Given he's got the Supreme court too, he's got power and time. And its a good chance this gets really ugly.

As an aside, probably a bad sign the Russian Parliament celebrates when you're elected.

So half the country is racist and belligerent? Hmmm. When people say things like you just did, it is no better than some of the idiots on the right that do spew that stuff. But its an over generalization. If we would stop putting everyone in a group, we might be able to get over group think politics.

Maybe people want to get back to work? That is at least one reason some have cast in that direction.

200 protesters on highway 24 Wednesday morning...protesting on a freeway... the traffic collision occurred because protesters were on the freeway. Or do you need to wait to see cops getting bottles and bricks thrown at them for it to violent?

People protesting on the highway isn't violent protest.

Do you understand what violent protest means?
