Aside from the Complexity of everyone a FA.. and Barnes/Ezeli RFA......I'd note that in the playoffs Barnes and Ezeli did NOT impress ANYONE. Butler is now the Bull's STAR guy. Not sure what cap $ they have but probably enough to sign either Warrior then re-up Butler.

We really.. have rather few trade chips. With a lot of teams now sitting on good cap space...they won't need to TRADE assets to bag a FA.

Butler plays a 2 more, not a 3.

I think Thompson and Butler could alternate depending on match ups etc at SF or SG positions. If I could steal him away from the Bulls with a Barnes/Festus package, I would be all over it, regardless of position etc.

Problem is going to be what direction the Bulls would be going in and with a rebuild probably in mind, we don't have anything they would want.

yeah... unfortunately all hopes of a S&T evaporated during the finals it seems. Whatever chance of a team overpaying for Barnes or Festus seems to be gone...

Maybe Walton will do us a solid and trade Russel for HB. Wouldnt mind letting him develop behind Curry!

Not exactly a proponent of these trade ideas, but i saw some articles that there were more than a few 1st rd picks available for veterans. Since we *may* be looking to clear some salary, here are a few trades i came up with. like i said, i'm not necessarily saying we should do these, just throwing some ideas out there.

1. Livingston to Philly for Covington + #24 or #26.
Philly gets their vet PG. Warriors get their new SF (after letting Barnes walk) and can draft another backup PG or big... while saving some money towards free agency.

2. Livingston to Utah for #12.
Utah gets their starting PG to help them to compete right away. GSW saves money - not sure who they would take at 12, but i kinda like Wade Baldwin.

Not sure what Livingston's value is around the league. He's valuable to us, but if we're really going for Durant or some other big FA, Livingston does seem replaceable. I don't think i'd give him up for anything less than these trades, and would prefer if we could get a bit more. Like: From PHI get the other late 1st they have or 2nd... from Utah, our 2017 first returned.

I would do that trade in a minute since Livingston's knee only allows him to play limited minutes

Looks like Utah was looking to trade #12 for a point guard. Oh well.

Utah would take Teague instead of Livingston any day.

Knicks trade RoLo for Rose. Rose is an alright gamble that gives them ton of cap space starting next summer but I think RoLo is a really good contract. At 10 million a year I'd rather have him than Ezeli. He can pass, defend protect the rim and beat up mascots.

Robin Lopez has a better offensive game too. Plus not a negative on the FT line, which is key keeping him on the floor at the end of games.

There was a tweet on the GB stating the 76ers were in on Teague and Hill before they dropped out looking for a vet PG.

I wonder if Shaun for picks and a separate HB S/T for one of their bigs would be entertained. I wouldn't mind Okafor. I'm not as high on Noel, but Okafor could be salvaged imo in the right situation.

I take either one. They will be cheap compared to Livingston/HB money.

Okafor would still be useful as primary scorer off the bench (on a different way)... something GSW needs badly.

If the Dubs could acquire Nerlens Noel it would be amazing. Especially because the. You'd have more cap space and could possibly sign Durant.

Agreed but it seems like we would have to make it a 3 way with Boston so Philly gets their #3 pick. But i dont know if we have anything of interest to Boston anymore but Philly seems set on getting a young PG.

OKC rumored to make Ibaka available a year before FA.

Probably due to them paying Kanter and having to pay Adams that leaves Ibaka rather redundant for $12-14m or more.

Maybe their thinking is if they can turn Ibaka into a productive wing or perhaps a ball handling 2. They get KD back and turn Ibaka into say...Gordon Hayward for example and they'd look decent. May need to get a defensive back up PF like Amir Johnson.

I heard Ron Adams say he wasn't surprised about the trade, that Ibaka had been wanting out for some time.

So i was thinking that Bogut is likely gone this offseason. Not sure i'm 100% on board if its not to clear space for Durant, but i'm starting to come around on the idea that he may be the one moved out for guys like Horford, Whiteside, whoever.

I think the main reasoning behind this is that Bogut is making 11M and he only plays 20 minutes game, meaning... we still need 28 more minutes at the center position (when healthy) even though we have a starting center. During the last 10 games of the playoffs, he played over 20 minutes twice.

That said i was thinking of possible destinations for him. He's still a good player and isn't paid an obscene amount of money but he's probably better off as a backup center for a team who already has a good center.

The place i came up with first is Orlando.
Bogut to Orlando for the 2019 Lakers 1st rd pick (which may end up being 2017 & 2018 2nd rd picks).

Orlando gets an elite defensive center to backup their offensive center Vucevic. They also get championship experience and more toughness to go with Ibaka.

GSW clears capspace and gets a maybe great asset, maybe couple minor assets. Not sure if this is too much for Orlando to give up. We could change it to a pick swap (our options) if the pick is conveyed if that seems to make more sense.

Orlando has enough capspace to take on Bogut and still go FA shopping.

2nd option i was looking at is Indiana.

Bogut to Indiana for either a future pick swap or future lotto protected 1st (else 2 2nds).

Indiana has a young center that they are grooming but Bogut would help them compete immediately and they don't need to commit to Mahimi longterm.

I don't see Bogut fetching much via trade (such as a first round pick) for the same reason that you're suggesting we move on from him - you can't depend on him to play very much, and $11M is still a decent amount of money for a guy who may only give you 1 year with your team (or really, a partial year). If we move him, I'd be stunned if we got a first-rounder back.
