I don't think we can get #5. Too bad, because 5 + something might get you something better. Getting from #6 into the top 5, however, will cost a lot more I think, unless something changes.

Ya I think you are right. But i'm irrationally high on Jalen Green. So lets say we got the 7th pick, i'd be willing to trade:

7th pick, 17th pick, Wiseman for 3rd pick to draft Green.

It's A LOT to give up, but when I break it down it still makes sense to me... would I rather have:

Moody level player
Butler level player
Wiseman

or

Jalen Green

I'm going with the guy I think is going to be a franchise player, perennial all-star, signature shoe level player. And if he doesn't end up that type of player, i'm going to look real bad as a GM because obviously thats a-lot of potential talent going the other way.

Another way I look at it, I think Green is worth having and keeping during these Steph years. The other guys i'd rather trade for an established NBA player to help Steph out now.

I think that draft capital would be better served getting an established player rather than Jalen Green. That's essentially trading all of our assets for a rookie, who maybe best case scenario in 2 years will be a budding star (most likely not an all star) and Curry is 35.

I would trade #6, #17 and Wiseman for someone established as plan a. Plan b would be consolidating the picks to move up to draft Cade/Mobley/Green. Plan c is drafting bpa at #6 and trading #17 for a vet by getting a salary slot with Oubre.

The bolded part is probably correct. I'm throwing a lot of hope that Green not only becomes a superstar, but is also useful right away with Steph next year. I personally would still go for him over, say, Beal (since it includes Wiggins too). Even though I know thats risky and Beal is a all-star lock already. But I would totally be on board with trading those assets for an established all-star, especially vs just keeping picks 7 and 17.

Wiseman + both picks for Jalen Green is too much.

And I like Green, he will be surefire star in my view.

Let's say, Wiseman + Scottie Barnes + Ziaire Williams could be our future core in 3/4 years.

I would definitely bundle the Minny pick and our owned pick for a top 3 pick, but I'd also be very fine with Suggs/Kuminga at 4 or 5.

If we end up picking 7-8 which is where the best odds are right now Ziaire Williams has to be the pick. Watch the video.

Great feet, great ball-handling, fantastic passer, super lateral quickness and highly aggressive with his footwork and hands on defense. His shot form is fantastic, getting the ball up over his head quickly without needing to dip the ball below his waist before getting into his shooting motion.

He needs seasoning as his shot selection isn't great and he can be overly aggressive trying to make tough passes but he won't be handling the ball generating offense at the NBA level nearly as much. His catch-and-shoot ability looks promising as he gets the ball off quickly without needing to dip the ball below where he catches it.

There's no way he's going 7-8. He literally only shoots and he didn't even do that well. He has some potential if he gets his shot right but he tops out as a 2nd option because he can't get into the paint or get an easy shot, everything is a step back or shoot over the defender which is going to be really hard to make a living on in the nba unless you're special. Maybe with our pick at 17 but no way at 7-8.

Pick 1 - Jalen Johnson / Scottie Barnes
Pick 2 - Jaden Springer / Ziaire Williams

These are my targets.

Any combination of these 4 would be amazing.

and if they get the 4th pick from Minny

Pick 1 - Jalen Suggs/Jalen Green

Zaire was highly rated and had a disappointing season but I like his potential.

Once teams go through the scouting process, no way Ziaire will be available that late. His package of length/quickness/bounce is unique in this draft. He needs to add muscle but he's a can't miss prospect with his ball-handling, court vision and scoring ability. We'll need the Minny pick to have a chance at him.

do you have him higher than Jalen Johnson and Scottie Barnes? or are you talking about if the Minny pick comes in at 8 or 9 and they are off the board?

You're really missing it with Ziaire. His shot is beautiful and that includes off the bounce. He also has outstanding court vision, ball-handling and passing instincts. He's a ridiculous quick twitch athlete who can dribble through traffic and score in a multitude of ways in the mid range. His step-back is unguardable.

His only deficiency currently is strength but that will come naturally and he came from a great family background that emphasizes discipline so I have no worries he'll be a hard worker.

He's absolutely the total package and he's destined to be a star.

I haven't scouted either player yet that closely. I've looked at Barnes more. He looks like a big, strong defensive oriented athlete with good leadership and toughness. He definitely would be a good addition to our team, his physical and aggressive defensive instincts would fit right in as would his passing instincts.

But he looks a little stiff to me. An NBA comparison off the top of my head is Jae Crowder. A guy that's very useful and developed the ability to knock down open shots but is never going to have an offensive scheme focused around him as a 1-3 scoring option. Barnes has no wiggle and plays more like a point forward with vision and passing than a long forward with guard skills which is what I want with the Minny pick.

I don't think of him as a shooter. He's a multi-level scorer with a gorgeous shot.

And it's the 80% from the free throw line that is the most important indicator for shooting ability at the next level.

I called Patrick Williams as destined to be the best player coming out of last year's draft and I stand by Ziaire just as confidently. Williams shot 84% from the free throw line.

Ziaire only shoots 80 if your round up. He’s not even reaching your own bench mark.

I don't have him in the top 10 and I am not even sure I would take him at 17 unless Garuba, Giddey, Springer were gone and I am also kind of in on Kai Jones as well.

Here is an interesting scouting video on Ziaire, obviously strength is a number one concern.

The future of the NBA is long, explosive athletes with guard skills. Guys that can shoot, score, handle and pass. Give me those guys over all others. You can teach these guys how to defend. Certainly Steve Kerr and Ron Adams can.

Ziaire has been a mediocre finisher because he needs to add strength and weight. He's got great hands and great feet and his game translates perfectly to the next level. He's also a great kid from a great family.

I liked that video although he badly overstates his ball-handling problems. He's an excellent, natural ball-handler with soft, quick hands and is comfortable with the ball in either hand on the bounce. His problem is lack of strength. It affects everything and that includes trying to handle the ball while under pressure. He gets knocked around easily and loses control of the ball and his body both while handling and attacking the bucket.

These are my targets.

Any combination of these 4 would be amazing.

and if they get the 4th pick from Minny

Pick 1 - Jalen Suggs/Jalen Green
Pick 2 - Jaden Springer/Ziaire Williams

Zaire was highly rated and had a disappointing season but I like his potential.

Once teams go through the scouting process, no way Ziaire will be available that late. His package of length/quickness/bounce is unique in this draft. He needs to add muscle but he's a can't miss prospect with his ball-handling, court vision and scoring ability. We'll need the Minny pick to have a chance at him.

I'll tell you one thing: if we manage to get the 4th pick with the lottery balls, and if we manage to nail both picks (4th/17th), then we'll have the roster of a 10-year contender, barring some unforeseen injury, obviously.

Imagine having Wiseman/Jalen Green (or Suggs)/Ziaire (or Springer, etc), plus Poole, Jessup... all these 5 players on a supporting role for Curry, Klay, Green, Wiggins, Looney, etc. Getting invaluable experience, having less pressure, deep playoff runs, playing for a quality organization, and so on.

We would be set.
