This pick has Steve Kerr written all over it. I'm sure he picked up the phone and called it in.

That kind of stuff makes it hard to integrate in with the starters, but if our goal is to slow down the 2nd unit, run more PnR sets with CP3/Kuminga, and do off-ball motion with guys like Moody, PBJ and Podz.. it could work. But if its a habit he can't break, I think minutes with the starters will come few and far between

That’s probably my biggest concern as well. He holds the ball a lot. Not much off the catch and needs a ball screen.

I think he fits well with CP3. Paul can run the offense, but tends to play at slow pace. Pods is good at running the break.

He can also learn from him how not to get bogged down at the nail.

Does he have a quick release? Looks like he brings the ball down and cocks it before going into his shooting motion.

I was bummed when Jaquez went at #18. If he would have went late in the first round or in the second round I would have thought, eh, he must be no good for a pro. But that Miami took him - Miami, who are so great at finding guys who can play late in the draft - just confirmed this guy can play and would have been a contributor off the bat for the Warriors.

Super weird pick imo.. looks like a guy who would usually go after the 2nd half of the 2nd round..Doesnt do anything at an NBA level except shoot but has zero lift as a really small player.. but there was really noone else to take a shot on at that spot.. Not a very good draft overall

Just putting this here so I can come back in a few years and call myself an idiot…

At 19 I had, in order:
Podz
Sasser
Phillips
Trayce

Hopefully the two that dubs ultimately ended up with are fantastic

Sasser is a better player/pro but you cant pick him and after trading for CP3

Like Steph had to, he will have to find a way to on-ball defend. Else his rebounding and steals will disappear as he will be targeted every time.

Here's hoping he can turn out to be half as good as another unathletic , yet skilled baller from Santa Clara.

You got yourself the steal of the draft:
https://www.reddit.com/r/torontoraptors/comments/13skel0/the_case_for_podziemski_13/

I made that thread, by draft day I had him #3 behind only Victor and Miller.
He's like a more well rounded Ty Jerome with his rebounding and is a better defender. His defense is very underrated, he's actually really smart and extremely competitive. He's going to be a special, special player in my opinion.
