Taking back a S&T player hard caps a team at the 1st apron, so the answer is likely no, assuming Curry, Butler, and Draymond remain with the Warriors.

Yes, but can any team S&T a player for another S&T player? If the 1st apron is the only restriction, I wonder if it's happened before.

Warriors did this with the Nets when we swapped KD and DLo.

Apparently, we do this all the time. Not sure how I missed all these instances

Is kd better than jimmy? Seems negligible at best. Jrue is an ancient defender who teams leave open. Giannis is only coming here if he says only the warriors. White is the best option but the most id give up is a 1st but it would also most likely have to include useable players to get him at which point we don’t really have the depth to get him. They’ll probably want more than one 1st anyway and I’d expect there to be a market for him.

So if you're the GM, you're doing nothing?

I like the idea of trading it all for JJJ. MM + Buddy + TJD + 4 1sts and 4 swaps. Sign Malik Beasley and DSJ. Draft Byrd at 41. S&T JK for Coby White. Let Knox and Key fill in the rest.

Curry/DSJ
Podz/White/Melton
Jimmy/Beasley/Byrd
Dray/Santos/Knox
JJJ/Post/Key

JJJ gives us a big who can rim protect and stretch the floor allowing jimmy and dray to play together and can give us shot creation. White gives us more shooting and some shot creation. Beasley replaces Buddy. DSJ replaces GP2 as our poa defender.

I also like the idea of S&T JK for 19+26 and drafting Sorber or Yaxel at 19 and Clayton or Pettiford at 26, Byrd at 41. Sign Steven Adams and DSJ

Curry/Clayton/DSJ
Podz/buddy/Melton
Jimmy/MM/Byrd
Dray/Santos
Post/Adams/Sorber/TJD

That's still a 9 deep (depending on MM and Post) roster without even accounting for what the rookies can bring in. Adams gives us a big and will make us the #1 offensive rebounding team can give us some rim protection when Dray sits. DSJ is our poa defender and replaces GP. Clayton in theory gives us another shooter/shot creator. Sorber hopefully gives us a 2way big somewhere down the line.

Add Melton to both of these scenarios as a just in case he can stay healthy option but I don't want to have to rely on him.

1st scenario is obviously better to contend next year but if we don't win we're screwed. 2nd scenario allows us to straddle the 2 time lines with better fitting young players and keeping all of our future draft picks. These are probably the best 2 options I've thought of so far.

Glad I asked. Great answer. Would LOVE those moves. Thanks!

Porzingis and Holiday will be available.

Holiday next to Curry would also be a huge upgrade for the Warriors.

Holiday is 35 next season, on a big contract (32M+) and had a down year. I don't think we should be interested. I wanted him 2 years ago (trade CP3 right away) but I can't commit to an older player after a down year. Last year he was amazing (40.2% from 3 in the playoffs) but this year the 34.6 sounds more like what we have now which is defensive players who get left open for a reason.

Could he bounce back next year? Maybe, but you're taking a risk. I think the Warriors who already have older players need to pick younger guys who are more guaranteed, especially if we're paying 30M+
