Sixers hired Morey, get ready for the Simmons/Embiid for Harden trade.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
How about trading Wiggins for Ben Simmons (their salaries match)?
The Warriors could then play Simmons as a stretch 5 center/point center and the Sixers get a player who can stretch the floor and compliment Embid better than Simmons.
The Warriors could then draft Deni Avdija to fill the void at small forward.
A starting lineup of Curry, Thompson, Avdija, Green, and Simmons would be impossible to guard, would be able to switch on all pick-and-rolls, and play well in the transition game.
With the MLE, the Warriors could then target Danilo Gallinari who would provide instant offense off the bench.
I also wonder if the Warriors could sign Boogie Cousins and have Boogie play a role similar to the one that David West had played during the championship years.

I say we role off the back of that Wiggins for Simmons trade, with a deal of Looney for Doncic, amirite!

Where my head's at with potential realistic targets:
Draft pick - Wiseman
TPE - Schroeder
MLE - Baynes (2-year deal)
Vet Min - GR3
I'd be concerned that this would leave us still a little light on the wing, but with 2 additional very big bodies (one a stretch-5, in Baynes) to help with the bigger centers in the West. I might consider trading Looney for an additional wing, if a decent deal could be found.
GR3 will - I think - be a perfect fit with the team as a low-usage 3&D wing coming off the bench. He could hang out in the corners or on the wings, or periodically slash, but would benefit from the extra attention provided to Curry and Klay to get a lot of wide-open shots. (Plus, he can be a drive-and-kick target for Schroeder as well.)
Depth chart:
PG: Curry / Schroeder / (Bowman and/or Poole, maybe)
SG: Klay / Poole / Lee
SF: Wiggins / GR3 / (JTA, maybe)
PF: Draymond / Paschall
C: Baynes / Wiseman / Chriss / Looney / Smailagic (Santa Cruz, primarily)
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

This team, if healthy, competes for a title for sure.
And I agree about the Looney trade in this scenario. Trade him and the 2021 gsw pick for a legit G/F and its a title favorite.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
I’d love having Baynes and Wiseman, but it’s a bit redundant. I love Wiseman, so I draft him and try to coax Crowder here with the MLE. Instead of Baynes. But I like everything else.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
If Wiseman is off the board I’d take Okoro or Vassell. Then go ahead and sign Baynes.
I’m cool with Robinson in a back up wing role.
And then I’d switch out Lee most likely and take Mulder.

Yeah, if we could get Crowder here with the MLE, that would be tremendous, and I agree..... I'd take him over Baynes. I do think Baynes does give more range than Wiseman, so they're not quite redundant, but "my roster" is admittedly too center-heavy..... so if we could convince Crowder to come, that would be ideal. I'm just dubious that he would be willing to leave Miami, where the most we can offer is the MLE (which they can obviously offer as well).
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

2 things:
1. I'd forgotten about Mulder when I put mine together. I think I'd make the decision after training camp of whom to keep between Lee and Mulder, with the assumption that there'd be 1 roster spot available.
2. I'd have no interest in keeping him, but I'd use the option of taking Ball as leverage to trade down (probably with Chicago) to pick up additional assets while still being in range to take Okoro or Vassell.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
all great ideas.
I just don't want to have to talk myself into what i consider a worst case scenario of our additions being Deni, GR3, and a boring MLE center.
Steph has brought in billions for this franchise, and they should pay it back (while ultimately benefiting the franchise longterm) by going hard after a top TPE and MLE candidate.

You know I really want Crowder for the MLE, but I've come to the conclusion that there is literally no way we could nab in. 2 reasons, 1) He'll attract higher offers, and 2) We can't offer him a starting spot.
He'll either remain in Miami on a cap friendly deal, even if it is just to have a piece to potentially trade in a Giannis deal later on for them. Or, another team willoverpay for him like the Knicks, Pistons or Hornets.

Crowder's shooting cooled down. Heat needed him to shoot in the Finals like he did in the earlier rounds.
And he was a turnstile when defending Lebron.

I thought you were joking about trading for Ben Simmons, but here it is from heavy.com.
If I were Daryl Morey, then I'd do this rape job:
Warriors get: Ben Simmons + Al Horford
Sixers get: 2020 No. 2 draft pick, No. 48, the potential Timberwolves top-3 pick in 2021, Wiggins, Kevon Looney, Jordan Poole, and the Willie Cauley-Stein trade exception
https://heavy.com/sports/daryl-morey-76ers-trade-warriors/
Let's just trade down with the Hornets and get Miles Bridges + #3 for the #2 and get big man Dwight.
PG: Steph
SG: Klay, Poole
SF: Wiggins, Bridges
PF: Dray, Obi Toppin
C: Dwight, Chriss, Looney

I know we love Wiggins but lets say the FO wants out of his contract is this a good deal? We still have TPE, MLE and keep both lottery picks this year and next

This deal doesn’t quite make it for me. I look at it as 2 trades combined into 1:
(A) Horford for Wiggins
(B) #3 + Monk for #2
I’m torn on the “A” part of this, largely due to Horford’s age. If he was 2-3 years younger, I’d probably do it in a heartbeat, but he has seemed to have noticeably slowed down, and that obviously isn’t going to turn around His contract is arguably just as “non-tradeable”, if not more, than Wiggins, due to that age and perceived slippage. But if he could be effective for 25 minutes/game, supplemented by Chriss and Looney, we’d be in good shape.
On the “B” part, the problem is that Monk isn’t a positive player; he’s a shooting guard who doesn’t shoot well, and he doesn’t defend either. He’s never hit higher than 34% on 3’s, and his career average is 32%. (It’s actually declined each year he’s been in the league.) I’m not sure I would bet on him magically becoming a good player on the Warriors.
The problem with our trading with the Hornets is that there is literally nobody I look at on their roster that I’d be excited about. (And hopefully this is true with the Timberwolves in talking to the Hornets as well.) It’s been discussed that Bridges would be the bait to enable them to trade-up, but some of those same concerns (as I articulated about Monk) apply to him as well. It’s not clear that he’s actually a “good” player. Both he and Monk “look the part”, with good bodies and physiques, and they have some impressive highlights, but when you look at the total package, they don’t seem to be good players overall. So in a deal with Charlotte, I’d be more apt to want substantial additional draft compensation (such as getting the #32 pick this year, and a very lightly-protected future 1st-round pick) rather than anybody from their current roster.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

The main part of the deal like I stated is getting out of Wiggins contract. I'm sure the ownership and FO isn't too enticed with paying humongous tax just because of Wiggins since he hasn't proven to be a positive player. Now I wouldn't mind keeping Wiggins, but I do not own the team and don't pay the bills and with the situation of no fans, having the most expensive roster in the league where only 3 players are proven and 1 of them is the only guaranteed consistent offensive option(Sorry Klay), I can understand why they want to cut costs. I also think Wiggins is currently very negative and is potentially hindering many trade proposals.
For instance if we are in the position to get Giannis with a sign and trade, Milwaukee would have to agree to for any deal to take place and for sure they will not take Wiggins if that is the case. And if we do not win next year because I have suspect on Bobs roster building, then we will be paying heavy repeater tax for this team and oh boy that will not be good
Also that's why I proposed another offer in Vucevic who is a proven all star and played exceptionally well this past post season. In the first case we take Deni with #3 and start him SF, 2nd case we take Saddiq Bey or Bane with 15
