Riley already said Klay was a lot better than Burks...

Biyombo is another Udoh. It's a fun idea to play both of them at the same time, but where exactly does Biyombo fit in with the big man scene here? ? Is he the first big off the bench for D-Lee? Would he get minutes over Lou & Biedrins?? Is he a starting Center? Is he big enough to play Center? Is he 25 yrs old with no offensive game? Too many question marks.
Go with Singleton and be happy with adding a pest to the roster. Get bigger and contain the wings, force more outside jump shots and win the track meet.
There are questions about Udoh. Size is not one of them. Haven't we been through this already several times, in fact?
This is a draft thread sir, the questions were aimed at Biyombo. Since we already have a similar talent in Udoh, where exactly would Biyombo fit on the team next season and beyond?
I see a nice niche at the wing that Singleton can easily carve out starting his rookie year. At the very least, we could stick him on the Kevin Durants and Kobes of the world and not get kicked in the face night after night. I can also see him defending 4s like Luis Scola that seem to give us fits. Sounds like a guy that we currently do not have on the roster. Biyombo on the other hand...
Biyombo and Udoh would be a nice tandem of rim protectors, but why let the other team get to the rim in the first place. Keep them out on the perimeter with Singleton.
I like Singleton, but I think Biyombo has a higher ceiling, and good bigs simply make a much bigger difference defensively. If Biyombo and Tristan Thompson aren't there, Singleton would be my pick.
My only point addressing your post is that Biombo's size is smply not an issue. Well, it's a good issue, actually.

He didn't dislocate his shoulder as originally reported and has worked out since this happened.
Again, I'm not hoping we draft him.

Not gonna knock the guy for boxing out his man, its just as important as the rebound itself. I will say that he does get out of position for weak side shot blocking help quite often. He is also susceptible to foul trouble as long as he's scrambling trying to help others. With the penetration the guards allow, and avi Lee being the primary PF; most of the time Udoh doesn't have the luxury to just pay attention to his man. He's being a field general for the entire unit.

People complaining about Udoh's rebounding, isn't it more important that the overall defense vastly improves when he is on the floor? (That's a rhetorical question.)

Kemba Walker might slip too. I wouldn't mind drafting him if Klay and Morris is off the board. We need depth and insurance at the 1

if we draft Biyombo I'm throwing him out there after Lee and Udoh, no problem, and watch the kid (adult?) run around and wreak havoc hedging screens, rebound, block shots and defend - his motor is incredible.
Biedrins can be sent to Bakersfield for all I care.

Rebounding stats for the most part are not an indicator of a team's success.

It is more important. However, his rebounding woes are a real concern for GS despite his overall great defense, because GS gets killed on the glass already and if we have to play Udoh to succeed defensively, we need a complimentary big who can play beside him and who excels at rebounding. Someone like the 2008 Biedrins. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone like that on the team right now.

Not sure if someone already posted this link but a player comparison of two guys that should be there when we pick. Riley has stated that we like Klay more than Burks but the article does make a good point of highlighting that Burks ability to get to the rim and FT line should allow him impact the game even if his shot isnt falling. If Klay isnt hitting from deep...what else is he doing? As all shooters know, there will certainly be off nights and you hope he can bring something else to the table.

In the new DraftExpress mockdraft we take him.

Kemba would be an interesting trade chip.

The George Hill thread is locked, I think it is a good thread to discuss.
Well I don't see people talking about it in other threads.
San Antonio is offering George Hill for late lotto picks including our #11.
My first reaction is George Hill is 6'2", he backing up Curry is still a little too small.
I know this kid can shoot, run, and score but I think he is still a little too small, we need size at guard, but I will pass.

No way do I give up our #11 for Hill. Maybe our #2?
I'd do Charlie Bell + #2 (from Boston) for A McDyess. Both are expiring and Warriors would buy out McDyess for 2.5M.

You can use the pick and Bell's expiring to swing a trade for a #1 somewhere else. No way is Hill going to get you a lottery pick which has much value imo.

Didn't McDyess retire?

I watched NBATV's Prospect Park yesterday evening and they got me a little more excited about Burks. One of the announcers predicted Burks to be a darkhorse rookie of the year winner. He said Burks has the potential to be a standout player when he fully develops in a few years. That he has a mid-range game, but lacks a good 3 point shot. Has the handles of a PG and the size of a SG.
One of the things I do like about Burks is his ability to play PG....that's a big plus to me.
