It's unfortunate I think there is a good player in Podz. He's raw and his game is unfocused. This is a problem with swiss army knife kind of players. I really think he is 2 scoring moves away from being a plus player. His habit of dribbling into oblivion can absolutely be coached out. Just don't think that will happen before he's traded in a package.

And zero chance they want podz, since nembhard is the better player at the pg spot. And they still have kyrie.

Is Danny Ainge the only GM in the league still interested in Podz? Or as he too seen enough?

Heard from a Tim K interview that it wasn't that the Jazz demanded Podz and we said no, it was that the Jazz wanted him but didn't consider him worth a FRP so including him didn't move the needle much in negotiations. So Ainge only sort of wants him, can't see him being worth more to Danny now.

Sure... okay. Only fair if you say the same for JK. Even Kerr said he doesn't coach his player. Not his job.

It's tough for JK too. JK's game (not impact or stats) is as developed as Podz while he's been on the team 2 years longer. Imo his gripe is more about playing time than direction.

Ultimately a coach & staff has a very strong influence how a younger player develops through their playing systems. For good or for bad. If the team instructs guy his role is to pass, or drive, or to shoot more 3s -- a young player is going to work on things related to that. It's not Kerr's "fault" entirely when players don't pan out but he's not removed from it either.

Kerr's not here to teach them to play basketball, he's here to teach them to play together. Kuminga has failed not just at playing the game as an individual, but as a teammate.

Kerr has asked him to use his physical tools to contribute as a rebounder, defender, and finisher. That's about the simplest role you can give a young, athletic player, yet Kuminga hasn't consistently delivered.

Let's be honest: rookie Kuminga was given a starting role on a championship-level team and was asked to do very little beyond playing hard and maximizing effort. Even that proved inconsistent.

From day one, he's wanted to be a #1 scoring option without putting in the work to earn it. He's not Kawhi, and expecting that trajectory without embracing the fundamentals has led to his stagnation.

All I am saying is Kerr should treat Podz same way. He is not! He gets the same minutes with the same f up plays... and still sees the floor. What excuse he gets a pass?
