Yaxel is a beast, no way he makes it to us now. And that's assuming he stays in the Draft obviuosly.

Yaxel is basically Loon’s size with pretty great athleticism.
Pretty impressed by almost all the bigs measurements. If anything Sorber may need to lose some weight.

Out of the PGs I like, they all measured fine too. Clayton is actually bigger than Brunson so that was good to see. Pettiford is tiny, but still taller than Conley or Paul and same height as Trae… but Pettiford and Conley have the best wingspans.

The problem with Pettiford and Fland are their weights, not their heights. It's really really hard to succeed at < 175 lbs in the NBA. Fland is literally Steph-sized except Steph has 20 or 30 pounds on him. Garland also much much thiccer than them even with the same measurements. And not to mention Brunson who is a **** monolith.
It's actually incredible that Trae has had as much success as he has being so sleight of frame.

Clayton or Uzan for pgs for me. Pettiford is way too light. Even if he becomes an all star offensive guard, he's never going to be able to be a non negative on defense. Just like Garland and Mitchell will never work to win a championship.

Good points. There have been a handful of guys in the 170 range at the combine that have bulked up enough to be good in the nba, and i think Tahaad can be one of them. Funniest number I saw was Dennis… he was 164 at the combine!

My guess is the ankle injury played a huge part in the reason he seems a tad heavy right now. I wouldn’t be worried about it at all. He measured great overall.

Monta must have been 175 when he came into the league. He never got huge, but he was pretty strong. Ja is around 175 but he's a freak.

He had turf toe surgery.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Draft Talk
Pettiford looked great in combine scrimmage… which of course is always a guard showcase more than anything.
I do always like to look at who sort of takes charge and doesn’t look timid in such an important setting. Recent examples off top of my head were Podz one year, Grimes one year, etc… and Pettiford was definitely that guy in this game, which is impressive since hes probably one of the youngest guys.
Random other guy that stood out: Yanic Konan… measured way bigger than he was listed in college. Moved well and just had the look and feel of an NBA center.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Draft Talk
Look at first round picks Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham, both picked in the lottery.
They could barely get minutes during the regular season and no minutes in the playoffs for the Rockets and Wolves.
Two small guards and also pretty slight builds.

There’s no way Carter Bryant makes it past the lottery and Cedric coward out of the top 20.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Draft Talk
If no Yaxel, I'd say we go after Rasheer Fleming.
Game reminds me of Montrezl Harrell (His hustle and energy) with a shot (Or a more athletic version of Nazir Reid). If it says anything from the Wolves series or just generally, we kind of need the high-motor, bully-ball type player to handle it in the paint offensively, can stretch the floor as a 4/5 when going small and able to handle along the perimeter. And think we have our answer with him. Looney and TJD just doesn't address the issues we have at the 5.
Thoughts?

Re: 2024-25 NBA Draft Talk
DO you really see trade ups in the NBA draft?
It's only 2 rounds, 60 picks.
NFL draft is 7 round, over 200 picks.
