Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
Latest rumor.
GS trades Wiggins #2 gets TJ Warren, Myles Turner and Justin Holiday.
I'm ok but olidipo Wiggins to Min devalues the 2021 pick.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
If Ball goes #1.
And if warriors wanted out of wiggins contract,
Trade #2 and Wiggins
To Charlotte
For #3 and Batum's expiring.
Batum is more defensive than offensive. More of a glue player than a 20 pt scorer.
I don't know if Charlotte will go for this nor am I in love with it.

I don't understand throwing in Justin Holiday on a S&T. The Warriors can't receive a player on sign-and-trade, their payroll is too high. You can't be over the Apron, presumably at the same $139M as last year, after the trade. They would be way over.

And that - right there - is how you know this is a fan's idea, rather than an actual rumor with any legs.
There's no way the Warriors would do a sign-and-trade, because of triggering the hard cap.

If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

If Okoro isn’t the pick then Please let the Atlanta-Phoenix-GSW trade be true

That has to be a fan making stuff up. There's no way the Wolves are trading for Wiggins back, and Myles Tunrer and TJ Warren does not get you the number 1 AND 2 overall picks in the draft. Then there's the sign and trade of Justin Holiday, which makes no sense.
The intenet needs police.

Batum is completely cooked. 22 games played last season for 3.6ppg and shot .286 from 3. He can hardly move sideways anymore. If you're trading for Nic, it's to receive an expiring and nothing more.
If Lacob and Myers are desperate to wipe Wiggins salary, then this could work, but I seriously doubt they would do this as Andrew can more than help.

Yep.
And to their point, you can’t punish teams that planned for a certain status, only to have the status quo thrown out the window due to a pandemic. You need box office, and Warriors are box office.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
I think it hinges on Charlotte. If they give up what Minnesota wants then the Warriors will most likely indulge a trade.
I still feel confident that Wiseman will be the pick if he’s there. If not, then Atlanta and Detroit will most likely be the scenarios.
I’ve read multiple reports about Williams to Detroit at 7, but their new GM talks about nothing but needing guards. If they want to make a splash with Ball, then a trade down of Williams to the Warriors makes some sense.

If Ball is available at #2 then the Warriors will have multiple teams looking to trade for the pick most likely. Might end up being the best scenario.

not sure if posted elsewhere but team's luxury tax payments will now be offset by the dip in BRI. e.g. if the W's tax bill next year is $100M and BRI drops by 50%, their tax bill becomes only $50m.
I think that means our chances of using the trade exception just increased rapidly. Particularly, for a non-star or a pair of them. Bejlica and Holmes from Sactown might make a ton of sense for depth (heard Lowe throw that out there).
This is terrific new, as far as I can tell. Per the athletic

Me too. I think the best way to use the Iguodala TPE is to pair it with the #2 pick in a draft day trade and get one of Edwards, Avdija, or Wiseman (in no particular order). Maybe they'll go for a lower tier draft pick if the vet they get back is like Bogdan Bogdanovic.
