They have Giannis walk up and shoot 3s. He was 0-6 deep into the second half. Not sure if he took more.

Obviously he's been working at it but he's not a good enough shooter for that.

In half court, his defender is 5-10 feet off him so he has to take some shots to keep him honest.

Just waiting now...

Curry/Rubio (TPE)/Poole
Thompson/D.Lee
Middleton/Tuscano
Giannis/Paschall
Gasol (MLE)/Chriss/Looney/Smiley

Man, that is sexy right there.

Seems like we may have to part ways with Klay, too, since Milwaukee probably wants to get more value and assets coming in for losing Giannis. But, the ball is in who's court?

Trade 1
Image

TPE
Image

3 splash bros for spacing Steph, Klay, Brook
Rim protection Brook, Giannis, Dray
Perimeter defence Klay, Dray, Giannis
Back up PG, Bledsoe
we use the other 2nd rounder to draft a shooter
Thanasis added cuz nepotism

Edit: We can remove 1 first if we have leverage in the trade market. I.e Giannis states he only wants to come here or a couple of teams he mentioned with us being included, but I believe we have the best package

I wonder if Dray would be moved to get more assets for a trade. Spacing wise Dray, Giannis together does not work well.

It might be the only way to get enough assets to make a trade.

I honestly would trade anybody not named Curry to land Giannis. I would love Klay to stay but Curry, Giannis and Wiggins would be enough IMO with some odds and ends to fill out the roster.

I think the idea is to keep the Dynasty going. Are we really going to blow-up the core for the Greek Freak? If so, I think a 3rd team needs to be involved and take on Draymond. A trio of Steph, Klay and Giannis is who i'd want to go with to keep the playoff window alive for the next 3-5 years.

People who want to trade Draymond should remember that he has a 15% trade kicker and while the Warriors would have to pay it, the team trading for him would have to be able to absorb it. If he is traded this offseason that kicker would be $15 million unless he is traded to a team he wants to play for and he waves it. I can only see him doing that to play for a LA team or maybe Miami.

C'mon, Joey Light-years took our joke of a franchise to 5 straight finals and made them a globally known team. He has already delivered as far as I'm concerned.

Small point, but if Draymond is traded this off-season, the kicker is about $10.8M, as option years are not included in taking the 15%. But it does give Draymond a little bit of control, if he doesn't want to be traded.

I agree with the accomplishments, but I'd rather he didn't go off sounding all cocky/conceited around the league (I'm a bit old-school when you reach a certain level of success, and be genuinely humble about it.). But, it's his team and he can say or do whatever he wants. I guess since they made 5 trips to the Finals and won 3 championships, I guess there's something to gloat about.

The 4 year, $100 mil contract extension kicks in next season. Any point in time they trade him, he gets that 15% trade bonus. Knowing that, I don't think Warriors will move Green (Not when his contract extension hasn't even started..)

Lol wow. Pending an 0-3 comeback.

This is a GSW dream.

“Miami” “Toronto””Frontrunners”

Lol like they’d trade In conference. To rivals that eliminated them the last two years.

Myers. Don’t F* this up.

That's an excellent point. Those 2 are often talked about the top contenders for Giannis competing with GSW but they might be very hesitant to do a trade to them for that reason. At least trading to the West they only need to face Giannis twice a year.

He gets a 15% bonus on his remaining salary, excluding option years, so his full amount would be 15% of about $72M. Trade bonuses are pro-rated during the season, so the amount is steadily decreasing, both during the season and year to year.

The Toronto and Miami being the leaders story is planted by Giannis’ team. Those teams gain hype and then Giannis tells the Bucks to trade him to GSW or he walks to one of those teams next off season. Going to get ugly though. He’ll have to threaten to sit if they don’t do it. Will take big balls from him to get this done.

What kind of deal do you think would get it done? Is the deal I recommended earlier too much?

Return to Golden State Warriors
