Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Warriors FO looks stunningly incompetent in their response to this incident. Should have been an immediate suspension for at least 10 games (I'd argue more) and instead they're trying to sweep it under the rug, planting misinformation in the media (although could have come from Draymond/Klutch), Myers trying to defend Draymond with "he's really a good guy" BS, and go after whoever took the video? Would expect that of a lesser franchise, it's embarrassing. How many parents going to be buying Draymond jerseys for their young kids after this?

This story is making headways in Australia here now as well, spreading like wildfire with the leak of that video.
Whelp, hold onto your butts, this could derail our season.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Gotta suspend him for that and his next contract should be torpedoed now. Nothing Jordan said warranted that. It was a sucker punch and pretty **** stupid/unacceptable.
The guy missed half the season, can't do much on O anymore and fouled out/was ejected from 4+ games this past postseason (not to mention he was poor about a third of the time). All that yet he still puffs his chest out like he's prime KG.
I'm not sounding the alarm and asking us to oust him, but god damn am I tired of childish **** from a 32 year old.

This season may feel "off" like 2019 but potentially worse than that

Bob needs to step in here and suspend Dray for at least 20 games, and hope that Jordan and his family don't press charges.

Some reporter with a big pair should ask Draymond: "what's the right age for you to sit down with your son and watch the video together?"
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Who leaked the video and why?
Any news on what Poole did to get Draymond so pissed of.
For those that don't watch the video, Draymond walks across the court to confront Poole, then Draymond does an intimidation bump. Poole expresses that he will not be intimidated by giving a two hand push and Draymond expresses that you damn well will be intimidated by punching Poole.
No audio on the video I watched.
But what was the fight about?
As of now I still don't have a clue what the fight was about or a clue how Jordan Poole and Draymond are feeling about working together in the future.

HiRez wrote:Should be 25+ games for something that vicious. 1 or 2 regular season games? What kind of punishment is that? In terms of basketball, Draymond's not even going to start waking up until March.
There's punishment for the act itself, but the bigger problems with a light punishment is 1) It enables Draymond even more, and 2) It sends a message to Poole and everyone else on the team, especially the younger guys, that they're not important and that the team is not going to have their back when things get bad. I seriously wonder if Poole even wants to play for this team anymore, if they give Draymond a slap on the wrist and sweep it under the rug. Does Poole really want to play (and practice, and travel) with this guy for 88+ games this year? I wouldn't.
There was reason enough to start thinking about moving on from Draymond before this ugly incident (max contract demand, age, injuries, KD, 2016 Finals, repeated various infractions) and now they're not going to get a better opportunity and justification than this. They're going to have to figure out how to play without Draymond pretty soon one way or another anyway. I admit it's not an ideal transition, but Draymond is kind of forcing their hand. They can't keep coddling this guy, first it was a constant circus of distractions, now it's actual physical violence. Don't think this incident isn't going to come back during the season if they both stay on the team.
This post hits the nail on the head.
King hitting team mates now? His actions have been ignored/enabled for too long in my book. FO needs to grow a pair and ship this clown to Detroit.

Until we hear directly from Poole, I don't see how suspending him for X amount of games helps the team as a whole. I would opt to fine him if I had a say.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
The Warriors are neither a publicly traded company nor a governmental entity and so this is strictly an internal matter and the Warriors need to do everything possible to keep it an internal matter. The organization doesn't owe anyone information about the incident and doesn't owe anyone any particular response or punishment.
If Draymond is contrite and willing to do whatever it takes to make it right with Poole and if Poole is willing to accept Draymond's contrition and move on then I hope whatever happens in the org to deal with this, we never hear a word about it.
The only way to deal with this, if Poole and Draymond are able to move on, is to sweep it under the rug completely and act like it never happened. Final answer.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
I think this situation will light a fire on Draymond... he will be laser focused on the season.
As for the situation itself, it's an internal matter. I don't think it's right for others to step in if the people involved eventually carry on with their lifes.
As for the folks complaining about Dray's podcast (rightfully so), don't forget that Iguodala also has a podcast... he even announced he was signing for the season there.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
So many responses here are just the normal outrage from the brainless lynch mob in the 24-hour news cycle era. Once this passes out of the headlines and the Warriors deal with it quietly behind closed doors, all of you will forget it ever happened. Enjoy the season.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
The video looks pretty bad. Definitely a sucker punch and I don't really care what JP said, Draymond is supposed to be the adult here.
That being said, it is an internal issue. Kerr and Meyers know more about the situation than any of us and I trust them to handle it.
It'll blow over, but I'm pretty heavily disappointed in Dray. Grow the **** up dude.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Not sure what set DG off, but I think I have a pretty good feel for what JP is feeling about it right now. If I were JP, I would sit down privately and look DG straight in the eye and very calmly explain that that was the last time he punches him, ever. Many years ago, I had that conversation with another kid in junior high. He never came within 20 feet of me again.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
From this point forward, nobody within the organization is likely to talk about this matter. The standard answer will be "Now that this is a legal matter, we'll have to refer you to counsel." The lawyers will, of course, say nothing more than "No comment." This has all been handled so strangely. I would never have expected this from the Warriors.

The funny thing is, the "legal matter" is who leaked the video? LOL

True. But, it also provides a convenient excuse to not answer any more questions about the matter. I may be wrong. But, if I was hiring counsel in this matter, it would be in part to use them as an all purpose shield. The alternative would be this issue dragging through every press conference for the entire season. From a legal standpoint, it's the smart thing to do. The only problem is that it clashes with the team's previous image as a fairly transparent organization.
