I'll be MORE pissed if Podz shoots well in game 5 ..... It's fricken easy to shoot well when the entire NBA expects the team is toast.

Podz: 3 for 14. 0 for 4 from 3. I know Steve Kerr will tell you he doesn't need to score but he does. He's a bench player. A role player. And nothing more.

Yeah, easy for you to say after the fact, but let's not act like you wouldn't have crucified Kerr if he tried Moody and he put up another 0-fer.

you have to give other players a chance.. Podz is 1/10 and played 40 mins.. think about that. He is not Kobe or Curry, he is just a 2nd year bum. Kerr lost his touch in this series

Podz is getting too much flak, he contributes valuable minutes. The trick is getting more out of the lineups with him.

Warriors won the 1st, 2nd, and 4th quarters :sigh: That third quarter was a killer.

Brandin Podziemski is shooting 9-for-40 (22.5%) from the field in four games this series. Per @JoshDubowAP, that's the worst of any player in a series (35+ shots) since Pero Antic shot 16.7% for Atlanta in 2014.

I haven't calculated it but it wouldn't surprise me if Podz has a better accumulated plus-minus than Butler, Green, and Hield. Podz does positive things on the floor. It would be better if his teammates take up his slack in the offensive department rather than just throw the good that Podz brings out with the bathwater.

yup he is kinda of mini Draymond but you already have a Draymond so what are you going to do with both of them?If I am buddy i would be like i am done playing with these 4 bums non shooting players in this lineup

The obvious move then is to play Podz and Draymond separately. But it's Kerr in charge. I don't know if such basic creativity is possible with him if someone on his staff doesn't point it out.

Not that I necessarily believe they cannot be played together. They can actually be good. In this game, the lineup of Podz, Hield, Kuminga, Draymond, and Looney went +8 in a little over 4 minutes. They haven't been heard from again.

I did not watch but from boxscore the letdown started when Podz subbed out, GPII was on the bench and lineup of Hield, Butler, Kuminga, Green and Jackson-Davis was on the floor. I am curious to see it but it does look like shooter Hield is point and four inside oriented players around him. Not a good idea.
It would never happened in my proposal:
PG Podziemski 34 Payton 14
SG Hield 34 Moody 14
SF Moody 20 Butler 20 Kuminga 8
PF Butler 16 Kuminga 24 Green 8
C Green 28 Jackson-Davis 20
I should be on Lacob payroll...

It's the over dribbling with him. Often he's just doing it without a plan.

Hold on now. Expecting Podz to live up to Pero Antic is asking a lot from a second year player.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

With Podz, he's obviously limited. He should be a bench player. He could actually do very well in that role. However, starting? Playing defense? Shooting? Passing? Not his thing. At all. Get someone else to start. Keep him if you must, but don't have him start next year.

Podz is best suited as a 20-25mpg energy bench glue guy. To me it's been clear we need a true SG to start alongside Steph, Podz can play with Steph because of how hard Steph can carry offense -- but we'd be better with another guy who can shoot starting. I'm actually more defending Podz here based on all the attacks he is getting, I think he's a bit miscast on a team lacking in talent at his position (SG).

The fact is that this team needs Steph to have a chance -- and not just Steph, but Steph playing well. We don't have very good depth and it gets exposed in the playoffs as guys who can't shoot that well end up taking a lot of shots. Jimmy should have attacked more, but we were 8/27 from 3 and a majority of them were wide open or mostly open as the Wolves dared our bad shooters to hit, and they didn't. The Wolves did a good job packing the paint, which made JK's game even more impressive.

Green 14 FGA
Podz 14 FGA

This was suspected by a mile. This was the plan by Minny. Give all space/iso to Green and Podz and lock Hield/Butler/Kuminga. So Kerr was ready for this? Looks like nah, he wasnt.

Randle has career series against DPOY candidate Green...40 years Lebron had better defence on him...

I agree with you. But Kerr has blind spots with Podz so he probably won't see it that way.

Totally agree! Podz off the bench 20-25 minutes would be perfect for him. I actually think he'd be a better player. He often tries to do too much because he's been given a role beyond his abilities. That's unfair and I actually feel for the guy.

Warriors need to get a 2 and a 5 (starters) for next year. Desperately. Don't know who that might be, but they can't go in with the same roster -- if they really want to compete for a title.

Possibly true, but Podz was coming off the bench when Melton was here, so presumably Podz isn't etched in stone.

Yeah tough spot for Podz, though he should shoot better.

2 and 5 would be tough, who are you getting as a starting 5? And I assume that has you putting Draymond off the bench or trading him? Would be tough salary wise.
