Re: Timberwolves vs Warriors - Game 5 - Cancun time?
Jimmy was awful, i guess he is injured or maybe he is just old, but he was the main reason Warriors lost, i wanted him out of game in second half so the team could have a chance to win, thats how bad he was,
I think Podz is a good player,he is strong mentally, had a few good games where Kerr put him in over his head, but still had good day today
Green was not good this series,im not sure what to think about him
Hield makes too many mistakes , he saved Warriors in game 7, but i think he has more bad than good games
Kuminga was great last few games, but still does he fit in system with Curry? I dont think so
Post is good for a rookie if he can improve some stuff like attacking after closeout, finishimg and defense, amd i don't think his miles ofmfrom being good in those areas, he will be great
I love energy from Gui, it would be great if he can get decent three point shoot
I dont know about Moody,im s little disapointed with him om these playofs

Steph was out and Jimmy was hurt for basically the whole series. So I don't want to assume too much from this series, except that the supporting cast needs to be better. MDJ needs to make some decisions starting soon.

Re: Timberwolves vs Warriors - Game 5 - Cancun time?
I think the Warriors would've still had a difficult time with Minnesota, even with Curry. Edwards and Randle were doing whatever they wanted on offense. If that was going to be the case, it was always going to be a tough series to win. I think it showed that it wasn't a great matchup for Butler and certainly not for Podziemski. They're not as physical as Houston, but they're clearly a better team. Butler gave it his all G3, but throughout the series, he was quite ineffective. Butler's bread and butter is the midrange and the Wolves made it difficult there. Kuminga is so athletic that he broke through, at times, but towards the end of the series, it was getting a bit tougher for him. And let's face it, he isn't playing much if Curry is available. I do think he would've ended up getting some minutes, but not a lot to where he's factoring much. Interesting off-season ahead, I think Curry, Podziemski, Butler, and Green are pretty much going to be starters, but they probably need to go back to a real C to start, as I think the Warriors will close small as usual. Just not sure who at this moment
, we'll see...

It's much easier to play offense when the other team has no chance of breaking 100 points. Not only did those two get to rest on defense, they got easy run outs off TOs and missed shots. Having to chase steph, recover to jimmy, and then take the ball out of the net against a set defense is a completely different ball game. That's even before we get to things like exhaustion and foul trouble. I mean just having to match steph and his offense is psychologically daunting enough before you add in the near death exhaustion and potential foul trouble. Dellavedova almost died and he was in great shape. You think Ant could do 50% of what he was able to do if he was chasing Steph around? No shot.

What can ya do
the Dubs best player was out for the series (except G1).... just a bad turn of events at the worst time. Nothing to be ashamed about.
In fact, this was a success. Remember where your team was in the middle of the season..... and until Steph went down, were going to defeat the Wolves and have a WCF appearance with a potential Finals appearance or championship.
That's huge.

Re: Timberwolves vs Warriors - Game 5 - Cancun time?
Coming back here 24 hrs after the loss and I'm not feeling too bad. Steph, Jimmy and Dray will be back for sure for a full season so we should be strong again. We need to find another scorer and reliable shooters (nothing new).
I hope this run has showed ownership (Lacob) that he needs to go all in to get Steph #5. Burn the two timelines to ashes and go for vets that fit around the big 3. I think Kuminga can be a 20 ppg scorer in this league, albeit likely on poor efficiency and with tunnel vision tendencies and not much impact anywhere else. We saw he can score but not enough anywhere else to impact the game like a Jaden McDaniels can.
The failure of this era of the warriors (sans 2022) was punching and running their young pg/sg combo out of town and drafting the king of all busts that could speak multiple languages. I don't blame the Kuminga pick but it would've been nice to get a quality player there either at #7 or #14.

Gosh Darnit Joe, guess hoping for a little introspection and humility from a billionaire was an impossible task.

I actually find it surprising that he hasn’t been pushing for a bunch of trades given the permanent ego boost trading Monte gave him.

Re: Timberwolves vs Warriors - Game 5 - Cancun time?
I see 3 reasons why we lost the Game 5:
- We missed Moses Moody again. He would be the bridge from guards to the frontcourt guys. That juice of athleticism which Edwards and Daniels provide for Wolves.
- On the defense we trapped the picknroll but not in all-five aggressive mood so they passed off trap and easily solved 4 on 3 situation. As a smaller team I did not see any reason to do it this way. Zone defense usually looks good when opponent miss 3pters otherwise I hate it.
- We did not explore Wolves defensive switches on picknrolls to get Trayce Jackson-Davis the ball who really can put pressure around the rim. Without Curry we stayed in guards shooting mode for no good reason. The offense had to be more balanced.

I should be on Lacob payroll...

Because he’s backed himself into a corner where these draft picks are his guys. Monta wasn’t someone he drafted. Hell Steph isn’t someone he drafted.
