Here’s how the call went;

“Hi, this is Bob Myers. We were wondering if you’d like us to take James off your hands for Andrew Wiggins!”

HOUSTON: “ OK what else are you including for us to take on Wiggins!”

BOB: “Umm.......Bag of Chips?”

If Giannis is off the table, I wouldn't put it past Lacob to want to create the new dynasty with a Curry, Harden, Klay combination. As bad as Harden is defensively....you can't deny that the offense would be the most in perhaps the history of the NBA.

I'd send Wiggins, both of next years' picks, Paschall. But that would be it. And I doubt that would get it done so....

Harden would cost too much....any offer would involve Wiseman plus a bunch of other stuff. Fwiw the Warriors also reached out about Westbrook...I don’t think a trade happens for either player but Westbrook would obviously be much more obtainable and wouldn’t cost Wiseman.

In a hypothetical scenario, I actually think Westbrook would fit way better than Harden next to Steph. Harden plays too slow.

Having said all that, My guess is the Warriors roll with the current squad for this year and the only “big” trade will be involving the DPE.

For Harden I send Wiseman, Minnesota pick and Paschall and Wiggins. I dont care about anything else cuz we would be getting the dollar while giving the change. I can live with with Chriss at center

I’d have no problem with giving up that package for Harden if I thought he was a decent fit. I have serious concerns with his fit next to Steph and the rest of the Warriors for that matter. In terms of pace, he plays the exact opposite of what the Warriors play.

DLo had the same problem here. He’s a slower, more methodical player and it just didn’t jive with how the team thrives playing uptempo. Harden is obviously wayyyyy better than DLo at the slow, methodical game...but yeah. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't give Wiseman and the Minn pick by themselves for Harden. But I think I have a lower opinion of Harden than most.

Harden is 31. Wiseman is 19 and the Minnesota pick could be a franchise player also around 20.

That's 10 years in the future of the franchise vs. Harden as a top 5 player for maybe 3-4 more seasons?

Not to mention, he would hog all the shots, though some people like Zach Lowe believes he could become and effective off ball player.

Harden wouldn't be off ball. He would be slinging the passes to the Splash Bros.

I don’t think Harden is worth it.

We have to sacrifice our future and whatever defense/depth we have to be 2-4 seed.

Doesn’t seem like the right calculus.

2-4 seed, what? Who the f is beating Steph, Harden and Dray in a 7 game series?

Some of y'all are loopy I swear. If we pass on Harden to bet on a Wiseman future we're idiots.

Integrity was a really big deal. Now it’s just say the most outlandish thing and get the clicks for advertisers.

Since we don’t need sources, maybe some of us can get paid for opinions. I know I have a better draft history than many teams around the league.

<rant>

I worked for the Mercury News a long time ago and people who have stayed in the industry have told me the first domino to fall was that craigslist making classified ads free and universal is the first step in what killed journalism. Once papers couldn't rely on that classified revenue they couldn't afford the low end beat writers as full time staff so then they started getting paid by clicks, and clicks are about time so there was less and less source checking, but it's just online so there aren't as strict rules about libel. Then those writers who had more opinions (which used to be limited to editorials) got more clicks. Without the beat reporters being a source for the investigative journalists that kind of journalism got weaker and they needed to get closer to people in government as sources which puts them in bed with the people they are investigating so they don't report some stories that will cost them access. Add that to massive concentration through mergers and we have fewer and fewer voices. Over time the editorial writers and best columnists left for more money and more audience from big online media or go solo. Now we have hot takes in sports and the "news" is so invested in people in government that they are no longer reliably doing their jobs.

The "good" journalists don't even see a way back from where we are.

</rant>

That's fascinating.

Ok, let me count the teams. The Lakers, the Clippers, probably Portland, maybe the Nuggets, the Bucks, the Nets, maybe the Raptors, plus a few others, without a doubt. Can't imagine why some think Curry, Green, and Harden would be a winning combination.

When would this trade take place? This season or next offseason? Because if it's this season then we 100% are not winning **** after we gut 1/3 of our playoff rotation for 1 player that plays no defense. Any team with size will 100% wash whatever is left with our team. Curry+Harden cannot carry this team when we have no size and rim protection

but if it happens next offseason and we add more size and defense then maybe, because we would have Klay back but a line up of 33 y/o Curry, 32 y/o harden , 32 y/o Dray and Klay(post Achilles and ACL) are not defending anyone and will struggle to beat teams, but the offense would be nice, it's just that the defense would be trash. Wizards last season would be an example, they had good offense but their defense was horrible so they lottery team.

Wiseman can't be traded right now, his potential rim protection, rebounding and fit are valuable. If a player that is as good as Oubre can be attained then even Wiggins, Oubre, Pascall and Minnesota's lottery pick for Harden is reasonable because the team could contend this season and onwards.

Well if Wiseman is excluded then that is a different case, but if he is included plus whatever picks we have then we literally have no assets to improve the squad, no cap flexibility, FAs will not choose us to take a paycut to win and Curry and the rest of the squad will be reaching up there in age. It will just be very very difficult even if the offensive firepower would be good, alot of people are just forgetting we have to defend as well to win

Kerr would quit if that trade happened. He's all for moving the ball on offense, but far more than that he wants smart and hard defensive workers who buy in to TEAM defense. I can't think of any players who less fit that than Harden.

You think the Raptors are beating a team w/ a DPOY and maybe the 2 greatest scorers in NBA history? LMAO

The Lakers had some trouble with a Heat team missing 2/3 of their best players. What a joke. Curry and Harden alone would run train on this league, much less a motivated Dray. It's like some of y'all forget we won 73 games with Harrison Barnes as our 4th best player.
