Same. I've disliked the Rockets for a long time, and you can say their style of play is reckless, but I didn't think that was intentional at all. Now if it was Dillon Brooks, that would be a different story lol.

Also, JK just does not sound like he gets it, at all. I think he'd much rather be the #1 option on a 20-win team. No interest in winning, just worried about himself.

it doesn't matter if it was intentional or not. when you play "reckless" and an accident like that happens, it's a flagrant 2. period. you shouldn't play reckless in the first place, let's start with that, and if in doing so you injury some other player, then you need to pay the price for your recklessness and go to the locker room before time.
all these post about intentionality, it was pushed, it was not, and whanot are menaningless. thompson had no business trying to squeeze himself for that rebound in that situation, his way to play reckless is what led to the accident, hence he should've been ejected no matter what.

I totally get that you're upset Jimmy got hurt - I am too. But listen to what you're saying... "Thompson had no business trying to squeeze himself for that rebound in that situation". He shouldn't go for a rebound because he's unlikely to get it?

None of the players said it was dirty. Kerr didn't think it was dirty, nor did the coaches behind the bench (according to Kerr). Unfortunate, but just gotta move on at this point.

thompson has no proper footing in that situation. he has no proper footing therefore has no business in that situation to try squeezing himself through adams and green, it's his recklessness that caused the incident in the first place. and when you are reckless in the way you play and cause an injury to another player becasue of that, you should go to the locker room before time, period. it's not that you are dirty and deserve to be suspended indefinitely, at the same time you cannot simply get away with it. it's an incident caused by your careless behaviour on the floor, own it. perhaps next time you'll be less careless. infact here the main culprit are the referees. effing clowns.

The amount of times Curry gets hit and doesnt get calls is amazing, also i think that guy should be suspended for injury to Jimmy, it was a cheap shot it wont bring Jimmy back, but its would be fair, also Dunleavy gets all the credit for Jimmy and some good draft picks, but not trading Kuminga and Hield were bad moves, Kuminga scores some but he always makes atleast the same number of bad plays as good ones and in process takes the ball from hands of better players, this game atleast showes how great player Jimmy is, if it wasn't obvious before

Initial X-rays show no major damage so hopefully the MRI will tell the same story.

In his position I'd be more interested in myself as well. Kerr and company from a strategic viewpoint have bungled his development. If he isn't ready to contribute to this team then he shouldn't still be here. If he doesn't feel invested in this team I can hardly blame him given the half-hearted signals he's been given. The team should be ready to win with Kuminga now. Figuring out the optimal way to play him should have been a priority from the start of the season or even last season. I don't recognize any of the lineups featuring Kuminga in this game as being tried and tested before.

They spent the entire first half of the season trying to incorporate JK. It looked like he was starting to get it for 5 games. He then got hurt, the team dynamics changed, he came back and couldn't adjust.

Kerr has been telling him to be more like Shawn Marion and wanting to develop him in that way. JK refuses and wants to be Kobe. He's not good at being Kobe. That's on JK not Kerr.

I'm really tired of this JK conversation though. We've been having the same conversations for 4 years

Actually the situation at hand wouldn't be so bad for a Kobe. Butler out. Non-Steph minutes. Who do you turn to? Podz? The guy who does what is expected of him?

We're still having this conversation because the need in this situation is so predictable.

But JK sucks at the Kobe role. He keeps trying to play a game that he isn't capable of doing and in doing so brings down the team. He takes terrible shots that he continually misses which disrupts rhythm, flow, and momentum. If JK was Kobe then we could live with it. Just like how we can live with Jimmy iso'ing multiple possessions. But JK sucks at it. If he was good then the team would adapt, but he's not good so he needs to adapt.

If Draymond had done this , he would have been ejected. Even if he falling forward, these players usually try to hold on to the player to break the fall, Steve Adams and draymond have done this before. Here he made sure to almost push the legs up with his hands. His hands move outward. After pushing he is faking injury and checking to if he did enough. This is probably coach who suggested and Jimmy is a target always plays like this around the basket.
This probably will not sanctioned by nba as they donot like steph or the warriors.

Most of our players have improved with a break showing they are interested in improving thier games. Kuminga has regressed and he has no buy in for the team. He rather make sure this team loses.

Some thoughts:

- I’d like to see more players do what Dray did with the rip through move. Steph can literally get 5 calls a night just swiping his arms through their holding and embellish it a bit. He had a couple turnovers where he was getting hacked and tried to play through it losing the ball…. just flail and fall down Steph.

- Moody played fine but i’d like to see him stop worrying about his place in the team and get more aggressive… Jimmy and Podz were out and we clearly needed someone to step up and give us 20 points, and he got scared every time he dribbled into the paint. Post was the only player that showed no fear trying to score as much as possible.

- Kuminga is in the process of taking over the title of biggest bag fumble from Noel and Schroeder.

- If Jimmy doesn’t play game 3 I think we will see GP2/Post and Buddy/Loon get paired. Probably with GP2/Post starting… although it does feel like we may need a throwback Loon playoff game so maybe he gets the nod.

- With everything bad that happened in game 2, we still had chances to steal it. We can definitely beat this team but I think it will be a long series. My guess is we split the next two games as well and it turns into a best of 3 series.

I wonder who would get the blame around here if Kerr and JK were gone?

Lacob?

Maybe Myers?

Watched the Amen/Butler incident a few times now. Don't think it's completely intentional or accidental. It looks like it Amen wasn't pushed, he moved his body into Butler to add physicality into the play. More reckless than anything. It fits into the gritty style of play of between the teams so I'd chalk it up to an accident.

Really sucks though because Butler is the most important player for us in this particular matchup.

Blame for what? The game 2 loss?

Seemed like a pretty straight forward loss where Jimmy got hurt, Podz was not himself, a handful of poor timed turnovers, and we needed a couple of Steph, Moody, Buddy, Kuminga, Podz to provide some scoring spark and none of them did. While on the other side they had a few guys step up, most notably Jalen.

Thats why we lost but nothing egregious that requires pointing fingers or blaming. Series tied heading home, go all out to fix it and win game 3 with or without Jimmy.

Agreed. To me it looks like Amen felt contact and assumed it was Draymond (it was actually Adams), and so he flopped to draw a foul on Dray. And did it right before Jimmy was going way up high for a rebound.

It was a really bad (and dangerous) place to flop but unfortunately a lot of people do it… and to be honest the rockets more than most so maybe there is some fault there because this team is known for diving all over the floor with reckless abandon.
