Makes sense, less than he wanted but at least he must be feeling better than Schroder...
Also no word about a S&T for a TPE, but at this point with the tax it's sort of a moot point anyway.

2 Year deal means S&T is off the table.
S&T contract has to be 3+ years in length.

TPE are rarely used during the season anyways. Doesn’t look like warriors will use their TPMLE, and that’s indication there is no use for a TPE.

Could've been timed for use at the start of next year's free agency as well.
/sigh, now it really looks dumb that the Warriors didn't trade Oubre for Dinwiddie.

Between Bouknight and Oubre, the Hornets are now must-turn-off NBA TV
LaMelo is going to have to be a top 5 player to save them from themselves.. otherwise its a masterclass in how to stay on the playoff side of the treadmill

I think they are betting hard that there is going to be a huge jump in the cap ... and they may be right, because if not there is going to be a hard adjustment for free agents in the next couple years.
The NBA is trying to get a new TV deal which is worth 3X what the current deal is.
But even if they get it, it wouldn't start until the 2025-26 season. That means the Warriors core will probably be retired by then.
Yeah, I was talking about the league in general, not just the Warriors. I don't think they can get 3x the money from the shrinking TV base. If the NBA re-does their streaming deal they might make more, but I'd be surprised if it's much larger than the current deal.
Actually some people think the NBA has a good case.
NFL signed a $100 billion deal and NBA is trying to draft that with a $75 billion deal (compared to the $24 billion deal it's on currently).
Sports are the one thing immune to streaming, though a big part of the new NFL deal will include streaming rights as well.
But NBA appeals to a more attractive young and diverse demographic than NFL and it has much greater global appeal.
NBA may settle for a lot less than what it wants but it's likely to get more than what it currently gets. They may have a separate streaming package with Amazon or Twitter as well as allow ESPN to stream the games it broadcasts.
The tricky thing though is that by 2025, a lot of the NBA's biggest current stars -- LeBron, Steph -- will probably be retired by then. So NBA has to find other stars which will draw high national TV ratings and sell a ton of jerseys.

Regarding Iggy, it's his right to sign with whomever.
But sign with the Lakers and he's dead to a lot of Warriors fans.

I’m not sure signing with the mercenary Nets would be much better, to be honest.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Iguodala is just trying to get more money / years. Which is his right and more power to him. But its gotten a bit old for me and I'm kinda over it. I thought bringing him back may be a cool story and could help as a mentor / player-coach for our youngsters, but he's not going to give us anything on the court and we don't really need him at all.

Not me. His time with the Warriors was special and I love what he gave us, what he does now, at the tail end of a great career, doesn't really matter to me.

Would any of you lesbians consider Lamarcus Aldridge on a vet min if he came back and was fit?

It's spelled LaMarcus.

Oubre was still healthy before the trade deadline and he was our best bet helping the warriors in the playoff. Warriors would have not resign dwindle anyways so that trade is pointless. I don’t think lacob and co will spend any money next offseason either unless we unload Wiggins off our payroll. Our offseason is basically done right now. Maybe one more signing but highly unlikely

For sure...we don't really have a lot of scoring from the post.
Wonder what sort of condition he is in...was never a champion of the skin fold test.
**** it...get Bosh while we're at it.

Of course is what he is doing, trying to coax TPMLE and possibly 2 years from GS. The same strategy that he employed when he got 15 mil per for 3 years. Completely different circumstances though back then and now. Unfortunately, what it also tells me is that his odds of coming here had just significantly decreased.
Because what I think he is indicating to Lacob is look, if you are only giving me the vet min for a year, I get the same thing from the Nets or the Lakers. And their title situation is much more appealing.
On the other hand, Lacob is counting every tax dollar now, and I don't think he considers Iggy at this juncture to be anywhere close to the group of difference maker he would love to have, and worth 30 mil he'll have to sacrifice. I may be totally wrong, hope I am. But that is how I read it between the lines.

No. At this point I am looking at their "championship contender" ceiling if everything breaks right as possibly grabbing home court for the playoffs (3rd / 4th seed) and go from there. Sure, the conversation for that has to start with finding the legit bus driver for the 2nd unit.
But Lacob is counting the money and GS is almost out of available spots There is only 1-2 spots available and several in house candidates. Unless GS can get Simmons for "pennies on the dollar", Lacob is in the position to wait out for who will knock on his door he can really use and who will take the vet min.

LA will probably be chased by several teams.
He chose the Nets before so that’s probably where he will go.

Re: More Free Agent Talk
If the Warriors faced Lakers or Nets, whom would you want to put on Lebron or KD?
Other than Wiggins, it’s probably Iggy. Not to stop them but maybe get a key strip or two.
Nobody on Warriors roster has those kinds of hands.
We hope JK and Moody will be able to stay in front and use their length to give good contest but probably not in their rookie year.
So there is value in having Iggy but hey his chances at more rings is better in LA or Brooklyn.
